point of the thread is to get people thinking ... and thats honestly why i made the thread ...people who had cotto winning last week...after watching it again had mosley winning or a draw ... last impression is the best impression ...and furthermore ... I am a Mosley die hard fan ...followed the man his whole career...





i like cotto too ... but thought he could have done a lot better being younger and having all the support he had at the fight . HE had the judges, the ref, and the crowd ... and still ran the last few rounds ... because he wanted to play it safe"????? no one sees anything wrong with this ? Mosley is the older fighter and he fought like the younger one ...taking the most risk and fighting 12 whole rounds ...a nd he was murdering cotto with body shots ... murdering him ... shane beat him at his own game ...



we need a damn rematch but i know no decisions will be made til hatton fights mayweather then delahoya will decide on who he will fight ... either hatton or cotto

On the real. I think a lot of the people who said Cotto won last week honestly just didn't see the fight!! But they're not gonna admit to that.

I think when people are saying over and over again that Mosley is a "class act" for not dis*****g the decision - that implies there was justification for Shane to dispute the decision and he opted not to do so.

I'm not questioning your integrity. You are questioning the integrity of anyone who says the fight was a draw or in favor of Mosley by stating that the only people who would do so are "Mosley fans" or "Cotto haters."

You are also stating that people are unhappy about picking wrong. So you have designated who and why someone would disagree with your finding.. I just think that's a tad unfair.

I totally respect and appreciate your integrity. You have a strong point of view on all things, and I wouldn't expect this to be any exception. I often agree with you, but in this case I just see it a slightly different way.

But Shane didn't concede. He stated that he wasn't sure about the decision, and that he needed to see the tapes to make a determination on what the outcome should have been.. That's one thing in particular people on all sides of the issue have seemed to run with or omit.

The people who had it a draw are not a small minority. The people who scored it for Mosley are a small minority. And there were multiple members of the media in attendance who scored the fight in favor of Mosley according to Dan Rafael of ESPN.

I can understand why you're put off by any dispute if you had it 8-4 for Cotto. But then again, that puts you in a very small minority of your own.

I think people should just get over this loss, if mosley is as good as you say, he will get a rematch and win it, a loss is a loss, no matter how you cut it and what most fighter(and sadly not many fans) understand is that a loss is not the end of the world.

Personally, I was over all of it after the first round.

Cotto completely deserved the win.

I wish I could draw a link between the people who couldn't tell Mosley looked like ****, and the people who think Mosley deserved the win.

As someone who had Mosley - I didn't want that win.

When I saw it live I had it a draw....and could accept any verdict, just very pleased that we saw two great warriors fighting like the old days....I reminded me of Leonard-duran..and In the 9th and 10 round when Mosley started backing up Cotto and stalking him and landng big big shots..I got goose bumps..That was great great great stuff..... To see Cotto come right back...Wow.. I am shocked this fight is not getting more pub...It ranks up there with the Duran leonard. well not quite as good but close.

When i saw the replay..i scored it 1 point victory for Mosley, only because he became the effective aggressor in the champion ship rounds...But Cott was doing effective counter punching too, many times negating the aggressiion Mosley had. I simply am ok with the decision.

I will say this.....Cott will get destroyed if he fights like that against Mayweather..Styles makes fights, and cotto sitting back and counter punching Maywether is a huge mistake if he does. He needs to get back to aggressivly and effectivingly obliterating his opponent with brutal and relentless body attack moving forward, not backward. If there is one thing that i thought he did wrong, it was moving backwards alot.

Mayweather will not be as easy to hit as Mosley was, and he would score easily if Cotto fights going backwards and counters...Cotto can beat Mayweather but not via the style he used vs Mosley.
