Since the mid 80's. Tyson is what really got me into the sport.
How long have you been a boxing fan?

Since the early 80's. But, I've only follwed it exclusively since around '04. I say exclusively because it's really the only sport I follow from day to day. Also, with the help of the internet, it had made being a boxing fan that much more enjoyable so I don't have to depend on RING magazine anymore like I used to. The internet has made boxing wonderful for me I must say. There are so many streamed fights to be had. Fights that I would've never seen had it not been for the internet.Comment

I can't remember exactly when, but I think the first big fight i watched was Whitaker-Chavez, which my mom's boyfriend had ordered. I remember being appauled by the decision, even though I probly didn't know wtf was going on, haha. Guess I must've absorbed the mood in the room.
I've always been a fan of combat sports though, since i was very young. Me and my cousin use to watch pro wrestling fanatically when we were no older than 7, and then we'd brawl it out a bit. My uncle was a martial artist, and he'd actually give us gloves and let us slug it out in the back yard, haha. Those were the days.Comment

Same here dude. My first fight I saw on HBO was Barrera-Juarez I, but I wasn't a fan. Then I played Fight Night Round 3, and that, coupled with me liking Roy Jones's song, "I Smoke, I Drank" made me DL Jones's 2 fights that were in ESPNClassic on that game, vs. Hopkins and vs. Toney. It's a miracle that I stuck with the sport, considering my first fight I watched was Jones Jr. vs. Hopkins. I downloaded the 3 Tarver fights.
Then, my life changed. I saw, at a friends house, on HBO... FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. vs. CARLOS BALDOMIR. My friend said he hated him, and I felt it was appropriate to try to annoy the **** out of my friend, so I gave Floyd a chance. Look at me now.
The first PPV I watched live was Mayweather Jr. vs. De La Hoya.
Since Forrest vs. Baldomir, I have tried to watch every live boxing event I can.
Like he said, I'm getting more and more hooked on the sport every day.Comment
