These *elite* Welterweights as you put it have only recently been in the spotlight recently for about 1 year and some even less like Paul Williams, like Miguel Cotto, i mean say about 1 year ago Cotto only had wins against mediocre opposition and Williams hadn't beaten anyone worth noting and now that both men have made a name for themselves it just makes the fights even more exciting.

Lucky or not lucky he still was Welterweight champion of the world and was coming off two good victories Mayweather vs Baldomir needed to happen it doesn't matter if Baldomir was limited the fight still needed to happen just think of it this way would you have wanted Mayweather to fight Williams or Cotto 1 year ago or now that they both have had good victories ?? i feel people are being impatient lets just see what happens after the Hatton fight and if he doesn't fight any of the elite Welterweight's i will be the first one to go off at him even though im Mayweather fan agreed ??
