Zab is the worst example you could use, he has always been highly overrated, mentally weak and has lost every major fight he has been in with the exception of one win against Cory Spinks for gods sakes, that hardly makes him an elite fighter. Not to mention when he fought Zab he was coming off a loos to baldomir. He is already talking about avoiding Cotto because e is saying that theres no money in it which is bull****. Cotto with his latin following alone is more loved and revered than Floyd. There were over 20,000 people when Cotto fought Zab and as long as he has his latin following he will always be a big draw. it's funny to me that when alot of Floyd fans were ready to hate on Margarito if he had not fought Williams which was the smaller name and took less money when he had a bigger payday lined up against Cotto. Had Floyd avoided a fighter and went for the money, his fans would justify it by saying it was a good business decision. Yet Marg took the fight, and now that Floyd wants nothing to do with Cotto, floyd fans try and justify it when Cotto is the biggest fight at 147 and in his prime.
No matter how you belittle Baldomir he was the # 1 ranked WW at the time he fought Floyd. He did hold the Linear WW title and he was a 9 year winning streak. Those are facts and you cant dispute that.

NO I don't care how much he makes really i'm all for them getting as much as they can and to top it all off Floyd has been fighting everyone that I wanted to see him fight other than Mosley.
he wouldve made more fighting Marg then Judah. He dint make 8 mil fighting Judah WHO just got beat by an old man with 11 LOSSES.

I will agree with that but you have to acknowledge the fact that he was and has never been an elite welter and you cannot not dispute that.

Well you have a point and I'm not trying to I'm just pointing out that Baldomir had his moment before Floyd took that from him. He was the man on top of the WW division before he fought Floyd.

I wouldn't go as far as to call him the man. Just because he had the titles doesn't make him the man. For example look at the lighweight division, Casamayor is considered the RING champion and the champion of the division, but he is by far the man especially after his lat performance. i think mostly everyone would agree that Juan Diaz is the man of that division. Baldomir took the title from am overrated, weak minded Judah, and Floyd reaped ther benefit if that. No one seriously thought baldy had a chance against Floyd. I like baldy, but the fact of the matter is, he's not an elite fighter and even though he was the champ was not the man in the division. I honestly don't beleive he was in the top 3 with Cotto, Floyd, Williams and Margarito there.

WRONG he beat Judah who didnt deserve a shot at Spinks MUCH LESS a rematch. Judah hadnt done crap at welter to fight Spinks and when he lost that shouldve been it. its BS Baldo beat Judah but wasNOT the best welter weight......anyone who tries to justify that fight is lying to them selves, FUNNY how Floyd wasnt to concerned about the LINEL title at junior welter.....your boys is a joke. Fighting hatton now? LOL......After that fight with Collazo..Floyd should be a shamed of himself.

My man this is all I'm saying, if you're ranked NUMBER 1 of any division you're the man to beat. I'm by no means calling him an ELITE FIGHTER, but you do have take into consideration that he was beating eveybody he faced for the past 9 years (during the pre-Mayweather fight) Baldomir was supposet to KO FLoyd according to some writers. All I'm saying he WAS THE GUY TO BEAT when he and Floyd fought.

These *elite* Welterweights as you put it have only recently been in the spotlight for about 1 year and some even less like Paul Williams, like Miguel Cotto, i mean say about 1 year ago Cotto only had wins against mediocre opposition and Williams hadn't beaten anyone worth noting and now that both men have made a name for themselves it just makes the fights even more exciting.
