Both would call each other out to fight the other, but! once Mayorga became Champion, Don King told Mayorga to be quiet about calling out Margarito. Why? . Back then Margarito wasn't labeled the "Most feared welterweight."

In fact, i think it was the first win over Forest where Mayorga says, "I want Margarito......" then gets cut off by King to be quiet.

King knew Margarito would beat Mayorga, but King also knew he can make more money with Mayorga the Champion if he fought other fighters but stayed away from Margarito.

Would have been one crazy ass fight, still can be. But who knows what will happen when Vargas gets his hands on Mayorga.

I'd say a KO for Tony in 2 if they were to fight now. Mayorga is very beatable and reckless, you don't need any boxing skills to beat him, Mayorga actually did best against guys who had great boxing skills like Forrest (aside from DLH). Mayorga's a street fighter and acts like one, that's what makes him entertaining. If he'll get past Vargas it'd be interesting to see him at 147 again/

Your a Mayorga hater. But you have no idea what your talking about, Ive been a mayorga fan for a long time. Margarito was even more of a nobody back then than he is now. It was when Mayorga just beat Forrest, Margarito said something. WHO CARED? Mayorga had the rematch with Forrest, which was more important? After Mayorga won the 2nd fight he moved on to Spinks to Grab the IBF title, to add the WBC and WBA titles he already had. Which move was right then? By the reasonable time the fight could have been made, Margarito already lost to sorry ass Daniel Santos in his frist HBO fight, when Mayorga was already primetime.

Forrest will murder him in the ring. He won that second fight, but the judges were bought off. No way he lost that 2nd fight. With a healed shoulder, I see this fight as more one sided then the Baldo beating Forrest just did.
