Why are we even asking this question? Paul is not in Cotto's category, and will never be. He got lucky with Margarito's slow start. He throws a lot, so what, he is not strong and speed is just not there. He is not that good.

I think people here are not understanding the question asked. The thread starter asked who was the better boxer. Most of u guys are taking it as "who would win between the two"

It's a useless question though, like asking who is better out of Cotto and Floyd Mayweather when the obvious answer is Floyd Mayweather, even though styles make fights and some (not me) think Cotto can beat him nonetheless.

Because that wasn't the "big" fight that Margarito had been building too. Margarito is a coward because he had to be forced to fight the harder fight in Williams, so he couldn't take on the easier fight in Cotto.

i'd pick cotto.

he has more skills, williams is just tall and has a long reach, but size doesn't really matter, cotto has good speed and has great strength especially in his left, but i think williams's fighting style especially his southpaw will give cotto some trouble.

Williams and Cotto are about a tie to me, but I gotta go with Williams overall....too many advantages..

Mosley is light years better than anyone Williams has fought, Williams best win was against Marg. Im ok with Marg but he is not in Shanes league, and Cotto has fought the beter competition by far. At this point Cotto is much better than Williams. Williams has to prove it first on a consistant basis and not just against marg.
