  • I think Margarito has the style to beat Cotto

I think Mosleys pressure got to Cotto at times.

Margarito could be the guy going forward. there would dozens of amazing exchanges center ring early in the fight to decide who will be going forward in the fight.

But if its Margarito going forward, that uppercut would be MONEY all night. Its a really hard uppercut too, that could more then hurt Cotto.

It would be a great fight. But right off the bat from right now, id lean towards margarito in the mid-late rounds. Could go the complete opposite way. its just a great styles matchup

      Not a chance...

The pressure might give him trouble...

But Margaritos big looping shots are going to get him owned...

Cotto is the MASTER of throwing short punches...

Margarito and his "steel chin" can walk in all day and get bombed on...

Yeah he's got a granite chin - against Cintron...

Cotto is a WHOLE different story in terms of his power...

      Margo aint ready...

i think he has the style to give Cotto problems. But Cotto is smart enough to work Margarito to a decision win.

Margarito's style will definitely give Cotto problems.

The amount of punches he throws at odd angles and he loves to throw the uppercut, which could be his money punch in their fight. He's also a good body puncher in his own right, Cotto doesn't like to get hit in the body.

Saying that, I think Cotto will win a decision.

Margarito no doubt has the STYLE (and the chin; believe me) to beat cotto but is margarito skilled enough to force cotto to fight margarito's fight.

            that is the question.

and we cant answer that until the end of 12 rounds (if it goes that far) when they fight.

This is the first time cotto has fought (in a LONG time) where im actually uncertain if he'll win.

Margarito has the power, the chin, the style, and 1200+ punches a fight to beat a cotto...but the only question i have is margarito skilled enough, smart enough, advanced enough to take miguel cotto out.

i think (with his style) if he's going to beat cotto its going to have to come on a knockout or tko/stoppage.

If it goes to the scorecards it will favor cotto as he is the superior boxer.

margarito definately has the power (and miguel doesnt have a granite chin) to hurt cotto; no doubt...maybe even knock him down...

the only question is CAN he actually do it?

I agree and I disagree all in the same instance.... Margorito does have a style that can beat...but he also that has a style that will get his ass handed to him....He is a straight foward fighter with looping punches. If Cotto decides to stand and go toe to toe with Margorito, then yes Cotto will taste his first defeat (which I seriously doubt) Now if Cotto was to circle around Margorito...jabbing the **** out of him and outbox him... then its a clear cut UD.

From what I've seen from Cotto lately.... I seriously doubt Cotto will be a damn fool to trade with the "iron chin" Margorito. He will use lateral movement to keep the slow Margorito from setting up his punches.

IMO, Cotto will beat the brakes off of Margorito...Margorito will have his moments but Cotto will just be to much for the slow Margorito.(just my opinion)

Cotto can and will do the same to Floyd.

I belive Cintrons power is more so then Cottos but Cottos more the precision puncher.

I think this fight will be decided by the level of agression that Cotto displays. If he pumps the jab, picks his spots, and moves, I think he has a very good chance of UD'ing Margarito. If he thinks he can trade and stand in I think he gets hurt and stopped. My only concern with Cotto's fight is that in the Mosley fight he tired at the end and wasn't able to put it in the final gear to win the fight convincingly as he would have liked to and if that's the case I think Margarito can still get to him late even if Cotto picks his spots well early. I'm leaning towards Margarito because I think he's going to come out blazing and force Cotto into a brawl, he stands to lose very little anyway. Cotto seems to have more at risk and will be more tentative but I'm interested to see how he handles the pressure, especially when it's still 101 mph in the championship rounds.
