You know what..A year and a half ago...I would have chose Marg but Cotto right now is on such a different level now that I thnk that he will figure Marg out.

Williams beat Marg and he's not better than Cotto, Clottey was beating Marg for 4 rounds straight before he hurt his hand. Pressure doesn't always win you fght when you are fightingan elite because it didn't work on Clottey and it sure won't work on fighters like Cotto and Mayweather.

Cotto & Mayweather beat Margarito....just box him.

MARGARITO IS A COUNTER-PUNCHER WET DREAM!!!

I think Cotto is in another level. I mean people are overhyped about Margarito, but who he has beat with big name recognition. Cintron(twice) and Clottey, the other b level fighter was Daniel Santos and Margo couldn't do **** against him. And in the other hand Cotto has fought Pinto, torres,Malinaggie, N'dou,Quintana,Judah,Mosley. All except for mosley, total destructions. So I don't know how margo with his basic style of going forward will do any damage to Cotto maybe a hard punch here and there but, it won't be a close fight. It will be a quick Cotto KO or a UD. Believe it will go like this: Margo will throw his Right hand Uppercut he will miss an Cotto will dig his left Hook to the body. All night long!

if margarito wins it will be by a destructive ko and it'd have to happen before round 7

if cotto wins- believe it or not i think he could just as easily win with his body punches as he could pull a UD.

margarito's got a nice long torso, and we've seen what cotto can do with those

The big difference here is that Cotto gets hurt and Margarito doesn't. Cotto sometimes loses steam in late rounds and Margarito doesn't. And Cotto won't have his usual advantage of bein the bigger man against Tony. Cotto could definitely beat Marg but I'd pick Tony in this one.

have you seen the Cotto-Pinto fight a guy thats taller than Margarito? cotto rollover the guy and the guy had a great chin and wonderful power, but the guy didn;t have any ring movement. And Margo is the same way. and when have you seen Cotto hurt at 147? If margo wins(wich i doubt) it wil be a Quick Ko like a 2nd or 3rd round ko after that, is over for Margo

i think u margo nuthuggers forgot one thing.some of u mention cotto's speed better than margarita (obviously) well i guess there's one thing cotto is good at COUNTER-PUNCHING BITCHES! and he does it in combination's with margarito predictability i'll see a good 117-111 for cotto.

Margarito could be the guy going forward. there would dozens of amazing exchanges center ring early in the fight to decide who will be going forward in the fight.

But if its Margarito going forward, that uppercut would be MONEY all night. Its a really hard uppercut too, that could more then hurt Cotto.

It would be a great fight. But right off the bat from right now, id lean towards margarito in the mid-late rounds. Could go the complete opposite way. its just a great styles matchup
difference between Mosley's pressure and Margarito's is that mosley still has fast hands and very quick movement. Margarito takes large lurching steps forward and his hand speed....well you know. Thats Cotto's saving grace Margarito will have a difficult time with Cotto's hand speed and movement.

Im more curious to see who will win the battle of the body shots to be honest. Ive never really seen Margarito fight someone who take it to him to the body.

very good point, Margarito is a big guy and to cut that weight he looks to be pretty thin to the body and legs. Cotto could have a field day with this but he will have to operate cautiously unti he can take some steam from Tony's locomotive.

True, only difference is that Mosley is way faster, you can see Margo's punches coming.
