Williams throws a lot of punches but Floyd wouldn't even use the shoulder roll, he'd use his feet and Williams would constantly be turning round right into straight right hands.

I know alot of voted for Swarmer but i disagree Chavez tried it and he got busted up Castillo tried it and it worked 1st time but Mayweather outboxed Castillo in rematch i feel someone like Judah is way to beat Mayweather someone with speed and good jab Mayweather has never fought a fighter with good jab except Oscar but he stopped using it which i don't understand because his jab was working against Mayweather.

Every style has a problem or a flaw to it!!

And every fighter likes to establish a rythym and be in a 'comfort zone'. Upset his rythym and rough him up.

Wether you box him or swarm him it does not matter. Make him feel uncomfortable and you can beat him.

        Easier said then done though.

A swarmer will not beat Mayweather, a swarmer is someone who comes in head first, using their weight and punches in an attempt to crowd. If you came in against Mayweather like that you'd pay for it dearly. I think a good boxer/puncher is the only real style to beat Mayweather.

Chavez had a lot of success with it and we know the story of Castillo. A bit more power and a bit more speed and you have a winner with Chavez.

Maybe I am unclear about what a boxer puncher is...

Everytime I hear someone labeled a boxer puncher, they are usually someone with decent skill, but they don't rely on it as much as a slick boxer would.

Jermain Taylor and Oscar De La Hoya are two of the fighters that I have heard labeled as boxer punchers, but they don't fight the way a slickster does.

I figure power doesn't really matter all that much unless the fighter relies on it, which I don't think Vernon Forrest really does, so I voted for slick boxer.

Apparantly I am wrong, because NO ONE echoed my thoughts on it.

              Can anyone correct my assumption?

                Boxer puncher.

                Examples:
                Vernon Forrest
                Shane Mosley
                Tommy Hearns
                Ray Leonard

                ....list goes on and on.

hatton in my opinion is a puncher boxer. If that makes sense...

I didn't think that fight was very close to be honest. I thought a lot of that aggressiveness was pretty ineffective, and I thought Floyd was countering beautifully when he was moving away.

I think that was a case when Lederman was giving rounds to the aggressor for no other reason than the aggression. The official judges had it closer to how I had it.

I agree with you and I am a Mayweather hater.

So the only difference between a pure boxer and a boxer puncher is the amount of power on a boxer puncher's shots?

That seems kind of strange that it is labled a different style then, considering they fight exactly the same way.

Thank you though, I will be able to not talk out of my ass the next time I use the phrase "boxer puncher".
