Regardless of what we think or say Top Rank hasn't seemed to have alot of faith in Cotto's chin. Although, they do deserve credit for making the leap with Pot Shot Judah and now Old Man Mosley.

He stood up well (considering) to Judah's punches, but he was hurt as many as 6-8 times in that fight. Twice we saw him wobbled, and a whole series of times he simply froze in his tracks for a few seconds and then recovered. Cotto was clearly dazed and slurring his words at the post fight press conference. The significant thing is that Judah hurt him pretty much every time he hit him with anything meaningful. The shot Cotto got hit with in the second round was a short compact little straight. No extra mustard, and that had Cotto rocking like a drunkard.
Saying Judah hurt Cotto 6-8 times is beyond exaggerating. Zab stunned Cotto on two instances. Once in the first round with a left uppercut and once in the seventh round with a series of shots. The reality of it is, Cotto was no more hurt than Floyd in the 4th or Tszyu on the two occassions he got caught in the opening round when they fought Zab. The difference is perception. People perceive Cotto as being fragile because of being so badly hurt by Corley. So to most it's inconceivable that he could absorb a shot like he did in the first round against Judah with out being in serious trouble. So each and every time he eats a big shot, he's automatically considered hurt. Hilarious. If Cotto was so hurt by Zab, as you claim, he wouldn't have been able to slip the series of follow up shots by Zab. Nor if he was hurt, would he have been pressing the action. Every time Cotto has been hurt in the past, he went on the back foot until he was no longer groggy. Yet, against Zab, he was still coming forward. Since when do hurt fighters tend to press the action? They don't. To suggest Judah hurt Cotto everytime he landed is a ****ing joke.

This response tells me more about how you feel than what you're saying.

      The difference is perception.

      Read what I wrote again:

Twice we saw him wobbled, and a whole series of times he simply froze in his tracks for a few seconds and then recovered.
MY perception tells me someone is hurt when they COMPLETELY freeze for several seconds. Your perception tells you someone can only be hurt if their legs wobble. PERCEPTION.

Trying to split differences in perception is the ****ing joke.

      And a waste of time.

Possibly, but those weak legs are what keeps him upright.

The chin seems weaker to me.

            agree 110%...
the thing is that cotto doesn´t have a weak chin, but doesn´t have a strong one either. he has an average chin imo. when i see fights like bika - codrington, vasquez - marquez, ...damn, those guys recieved bombs all night and they were like nothing happened xD...

Thats little unfair Addison especially with this comment.

Torres had almost 100 percent KO record Corley may not have best KO record but he can turn your legs to jelly with one shot just like he did with Mayweather and Judah can **** in most fights he has been in he has rocked guys with one shot Tszyu, Mayweather,

I already explained Torres if you scroll further. I had Torres in mind when I wrote that. I just didn't want to add it as a pre-qualifier because the regular crowd here is very familiar with each other and the details. It's literally redundant of me to say "but not Torres (obviously)." Torres spawned Cotto's reputation for being chinny. Torres himself.

How can you say he froze if he was aware enough to dodge punches? When Cotto ate that uppercut, he returned fire. When Mayweather ate Zab's straight left, he went into a shell and reeled backwards. By your logic, I guess this means Mayweather was more hurt than Cotto, correct?

No, what's the joke is you making up imaginary **** like Judah having Cotto "hurt 6-8 times" and having him "rocking like a drunkard." That's not perception; that's lies.

IMO, Cotto's chin is above average, but his defense is just plain "average." The upswing is Cotto's offense which is way above average.

But, I will concede that Shane has a much better defense than Cotto. Is Shane's chin better? Everybody will say yes, I know. But, he can be gotten to with relentless offense, as Vernon Forrest now demonstrates:
