Did you even see the Judah fight? That was one of Cotto's most effective punches in that fight. Manny Steward said his jab was landing like a power shot. If anyone doesn't have a jab, it's Shane, who only paws with it and uses it as a measuring stick.

To the poster suggesting Shane can take it to the body well, I suggest watching the first Forrest fight where Shane literally screams after a Forrest body shot. Or round 4 of the first Winky fight where Shane was noticeably effected by Wright's body shots.

Cotto's jab was working great against Judah. After the third round.

But then again.. EVERYTHING was working after the third round.

        No mystery why.

But I will say that Cotto is decent at sneaking his jab in there. At least he has been on the caliber of opponents he's faced. Although, this isn't just your typical jab. Cotto smokescreens it with alot of other rough stuff - but it does hit it's target. Can't take that away from him.

Regrarding that body punch from Forrest..

Still, Mosley is 36-years old while Cotto is only 27. The age discrepancy could prove vital as the fight goes on. And if Vernon Forrest badly hurt Mosley to the body when they fought at the Garden in 2002, what will Cotto, one of the best body punchers in the game, do to "Sugar" Shane?

"With Vernon Forrest I actually had body problems," Mosley explained to *********. "What happened was after my fight with Shannon Taylor, I had hernia surgery. I had to get an incision. So after I fought Shannon Taylor right away I went to do the surgery and then I fought Vernon."

"That's when he hit me right on my incision," Mosley continued. "That's why I didn't go down. If I would've went down that would have been a body shot. I just screamed 'ugh' because it was a shot that hurt me not from the body but from the cut. So that's what happens in fights. I took the gamble of going in the ring not prepared and that's what happened."

Cotto has an important an very goodjab.

His arm length doesnt really matter that much cause he takes a pretty large step INTO the jab.

And a double jab is always good at helping offensive fighters like Cotto adjust to and nuetralize the speed of Shane Mosley.

Mosleys speed could give Cotto fits early, the jab and double jab could solve that problem for cotto

pound4poundabes I can tell you are a Puerto Rican Hater..We will see tonight Cotto is warrior shane will have to kill him to win this fight. You think shane will do the same?. Shane is already talking about retiring and training his son. Even dela hoya is thinking about fighting cotto.

This is why I admire mosley as a fighter. He takes gambles, and dares to be great.

With the possible exception of vargas, who was a BIG junior middleweight, Cotto might be shane's first big name opponent that will posses attributes that are perfectly conducive to his own. This will be clearly visible during the fight.

what about you, do you box?

and honestly man really the only people picking cotto to win is because they are puertorican ... or a die hard cotto fan ... this fight is hands down a bad style match up for cotto however you look at it.

                cotto has weak defense...

cotto is slow as hell ....

and cotto has short arms ...

lol and people think cotto will win ...hahahahahahahaha

shane has been very focused for this fight....never seen him this focused ....he is going to destroy cotto
So because you've boxed before your opinion counts more? It doesn't matter how short his arms are. He times his jab and jumps into it.

Yeah Steward mentioned in the Judah fight how open he leaves himself up the middle when he steps in. I think Shane has been watching a lot of tape and will look to take advantage of it.

Yea he definetly sees the opening for the uppercut.

They showed pleny of training footage where he was working on that uppercut non stop. Its the best punch for shane in this fight.

IMO, it needs to be a very looping uppercut, Shanes is more straight up. But still, and uppercuts and uppercut and its gonna be money for shane.
