armstrong was a lightweight on the scales for the majority of his welter title defenses, which is pretty amazing.

srr and armstrong are top 2, but as the poster said, "in potential", it is difficult to rank since there is limited footage of them 2.

i'm not sure if i'd rank trinidad all that high. maybe top 10 but probably not top 5.

he had 15 title defenses, but let's look at the eras and situations. he was one of 3 champs during that whole time, while other guys in the past generally were the only champ. tito beat a badly faded blocker for the ibf belt. whitaker was considered the true linear champ when he beat mcgirt, who beat brown, who unified 2 of the 3 belts against blocker. the other champ was m. taylor who was on a fast slide towards "bolivian".

tito was stuck for most of his ww title reign being misused by don king. after a good 94', tito was stuck from 95-98 fighting the likes of kevin lueshing, rodney moore, ray lovato, etc...he even tried to move to 154 to be in an eliminator to make a fight with terry norris. when tito went back down and got the big fights, well, whitaker was old and coked-out, and how many people actually believe tito beat oscar? furthermore, how many think it was actually a good or semi-good performance by tito?

tito is probably top 10 ww, but his weak number of quality wins over other top welters prevent him from being a top 5.

Regardless of whether Trinidad won the fight, he was exposed that night with quite a few flaws.

Exactly. Trinidad has to be bumped a number of spots. Hearns lost to SRL at 147. SRL lost to Duran, who only had a few fights at that weight.

So after Robinson and whatever other oldtimers I know nothing about, you can list:

oscar avoided history,their is a reason he ran,cause he would've gotten knockout,oscar excelled at something he was better at then trinidad boxing,tito's strengths are punching power and stamina tides turn in fights for reasons like this.i don't care if anybody thinks oscar won the fight,fact is he ran with three rounds left,he didn't deserve to win that fight.

i would put SRR up in top then SRL in second for beating Hearns, Benitez, Ayub Kalule ( the JR. middle champ) Then there was the No Mas fight but SRR stand atop the pile.
