He's on to something though... in all honesty, Gatti's WBC title at 140 was equivalent to Lucian Bute's IBF title at 168.

140 has had a "true" champion since Tszyu beat Judah, which was passed on to Hatton. The Mayweather-Gatti fight was more about building Floyd as a solid PPV star, which worked like a charm.

Gatti was the "paper" champ at 140. Floyd even said so himself. So if u beat a paper champ, what does that make u?

People forget how much Ali was hated in his younger years, and he used to spout that greatest stuff too. I think Mayweather took a page out of Ali's book so he could sell more PPVs.
