    Calzaghe is shot

Not totally shot, but he just was not at the races on Saturday and only his quickness, chin and workrate saw him through

His footwork, angles and movement just weren't there and neither was he able to sit down on anything, and he was only against a limited robot, most padded fighter in history and guy who won his titles against the two worst titlists in boxing

I'm not sure what others are seeing, I saw a near-shot fighter making hard work of it against another somewhat average challenger

Calzaghe beat a better boxer than Mikkel Kessler in better fashion seven years ago (in Richie Woodhall)

Oh and wasn't it Kessler's magnificent handspeed, timing, and accuracy that caused Joe to limit his movement and stay to his right?

Kessler was caught more going backwards against the limited Mexican guy than he was the other night, this was down to Calzaghe's sluggish footspeed compared to normal and lack of punching on the way in

The Joe Calzaghe who fought Mitchell, Mkrtchian and Veit smokes Kessler all over the place. You Americans missed his peak

Again, I think the opponent deserves some credit for that. Ande Andrade didn't land **** on Kessler.

Let me tell you something Kayjay.

When I was watching the fight live, I thought Calzaghe had aged overnight, to me he looked struggling.. but from the few rounds I've seen on youtube, I now know it was just my lack of vision.. he's still the exceptional fighter he was 18 months ago.

How's Calzaghe supposed to give a guy like Kessler angles? I thought he would have to begin with, but when it came to it you seen how Kessler was fighting, in and out like a ferret, footwork and handspeed unbelievable.. Calzaghe did what he had to do to win, and in impressive fashion.

**** yourself Geoff, you said the same about Hatton after the Urango fight.

Why is it that when A LOT of people are praising him and putting him higher (some even at the top) of the p4p list you say he's shot?? It's been 2 days since one of, if not THE best win of his career and you're saying he's shot.

Stop posting BULL**** because I'm sick of reading it!!!

Go and watch either Castillo or Gatti's last fight. That's what a shot fighter looks like. What Joe did on Saturday was pure class. And I'm not even a Calzaghe fan. Which makes me think even more that you're a complete prick who is talking out of his ass!
