I wonder how many Americans have actually seen any of Calzaghes fights during his 10 year reign?

I became an instant fan after watching him fight Eubank, Yes Eubank was over the hill, but anyone who has seen that fight knows the perfoormance Eubank put in, and how the young Calzaghe showed such desire to out fight and stop Eubank.

Calzaghes performance against Kessler and Lacy are nothing new. He has showed amazing determination and a true fighters spirit many times. Like Hopkins said, it takes so much to get up for each fight and remain undefeated.

Which fighters should Calzaghe of fought?

Lets do some very simple math.

Lets say Bernard throws 30 ppr (punches per round)
Lets say Joe throws 90 ppr

Now lets say Joe makes twice as many mistakes as Bernard.

      90/2 = 45 ppr

Joe throwing 90 ppr is the equivalent of Bernard throwing 45 ppr assuming the parameters I laid out.

45ppr-30ppr = 15ppr = Joe > Bernard by a 50% margin given the parameters established in this example.

In essence, Joe outworks Bernard. Simple Math.

Good post. This really is the key isn't it? By the 10th that old man is going to wish he'd retired. Calzaghe's pace is way too much for Hopkins. So Hopkins is going for a KO? I doubt it. You guys have to remember, Hopkins is a great spoiler, but Joe is too. In the end, it will be Joe's pace that sends Bernard packing.

          This fight can go eitherway.

Calzaghe can win because of his workrate/activity and B-Hop is'nt very active compared to him so the Judges may give him rounds for that, but B-Hop can slow down Calzaghe round-by-round. We know Bika who gave Calzaghe trouble, the only reason he gave him trouble because Sakio is a dirty fighter, Hopkins is 20 times a dirtier fighter than Bika and does whatever it takes to win. Plus what If joe does'nt land much **** on Hopkins? We know Hopkins is elusive and has one of the best defense in the sports.

Bika gave Calzaghe trouble because Calzaghe fought like an idiot for the first few rounds and took the piss.

Hopkins does'nt have 12 hard rounds in him anymore. He fights down the stretch the way Joe fights all 12 rounds.

calzaghe vs veit 3 we need to see that! ok no. did calzaghe even do anything in the kessler fight? i'm trying to remember but i just can't he ran around a lot and looked flashy but he didnt do anything. kessler was mesmerized by the old man doing the river dance and he forgot to throw punches and still almost won.

Did you see the 8th round?
Did you even watch the fight?
If you did tell me what happened in the 8th.
If you can't answer straight away you obviously didn't watch the fight and just hate Joe.

I think Calzaghe threw 1010 punches and out worked Kessler, avoiding nearly all of his power punches.

                      Its called boxing.
