Kessler needs head movement to be added to his aresenal.

Even a sloppy fighter like Manny Pacquiao isn't that easy to hit with his upper body movement.

Once Kessler is able to add that to his already fine boxing skills, he'll be unstoppable.

And no, Kessler lost. Not even close to a draw here.

I agree with what I've quoted. I gave Kessler 4 of the first 5 rounds (1,2,4, and 5), there was a middle round I thought could go to Kessler (don't remember what number, maybe 8 or 9) and then round 12. To me, it was a two-storied fight with Kessler winning most of the early rounds and Joe winning most of the late ones. I could see a draw or Calzaghe by one round, but I think Calzaghe looked better on Saturday night, partly because he did better in the second half and, psychologically, that's what stays with you.

I'd love to see a rematch but I don't think Joe is trying to stay around 168 any longer. I believe he'll go fight B-Hop or retire.

I was really impressed with Joe. First I expected Lacy to blow him out of the water and he proved me wrong. I was a bit impressed there but kind of wrote it off as Lacy not being ready for the big fights and still being a bit green. With his win over Kessler, and the way he looked in the second half (let's face it, Kessler won the close rounds but Joe won his rounds widely), I think Joe has to be considered amoung the best 168-pounders ever. Props to Joe!

I only gave three rounds to Kessler.

Rounds 2, 4, and 12. Round 5 was pretty close though and could have went either way. But even if you gave round 5 to Kessler there is no way this was a draw.

                  agree..

the fact is, is the noble art of selfdefence, the defence is often forgotten, people tend to say well he threw more, landed more, therefore he won.

eventhough joe landed more i had kessler winning some rounds based on harder punches, and better accuracy.

i think round you are talking about is the 8, a round where joe landed 3 shots more, but missed aprox 10-15 % more of his punches then kess, while kessler was landing the harder shots.

but i have to admit, eventhough im danish, that joe just squeezed it out.

an interesting point you made, that the "second half" of the rounds and and fight is what you remember.

when you look at joe, he really looks unimpressive, but its not, he showed he could box, with a well schooled boxer, against lacy he showed he could brawl with a brawler.

a rematch would be perfect for me as well, personally i thing this fight is one hell of a learning experience for kessler, i think he could do better in a rematch. but as you pointed out, joe is gonna chase hopkins, the question is, is hopkins gonna chase joe..

Hmmm even a blind man could see who won that fight. JC won by four rounds and the shared rounds could have gone either way.

Kessler is a great fighter and he will dominate the division from now on but to say 'did he get a draw'?

Tell you what, ask him, because when the bell rang he looked like the beaten man and after the fight he offered no excuses or complaints.

He lost to a better man on the night.

Isn't that refreshing? I mean would we prefer the controversy of many a title fight gone by?
