Where do you think the fight would take place at anyway? I know Calzaghe draws massive amounts of people in Wales, and let's face it, Hopkins couldn't draw more than a few thousand in Philly. Certainly Yankees Stadium isn't an option, right?
I'm guessing Cardiff, Wales. Just a guess, but I think Bernard is going to have to get on a plane and go over there.

I don't think it's a stretch at all to think Calzaghe will beat Hopkins, that's just a smart bet really. I just took issue with the post of yours that said Calzaghe could beat anybody in any of the 4 divisions you mentioned, aside from Klitschko. I mean hell, you said anybody. Valuev is also a Heavyweight, so could Joe take him too? See what I mean?

the key to joe is speed, speed kills.i see no middleweight quick enough for him,no supermiddle quick enough for him, chad stylistically has a 50% shot a winning,i'm pretty sure that pavlik hits as hard as kessler did last nite.

Yeah but like it or not he's one of the top 10 pound-for-pound best right now, has been for quite a while actually. And his name is well known, so he won't be retiring before one final fight.

That's the most logical option. Somehow I see Bernard having a big problem with that though, that may even lead to the fight not happening. Put it this way, I'd be very surprised to see someone as prideful as Hopkins travel to Calzaghe's backyard for the fight, B-Hop's still thinks he can draw thousands upon thousands of fans.

I'd say Pavlik beats Calzaghe, Dawson maybe as well. Pavlik's key to victory is not his punching power, but his work rate. For a big, heavy hitting Middleweight the guy throws tons of punches. Calzaghe certainly is well conditioned and could probably weather the storm, but I could see Kelly dropping him.

I could also see Joe outworking Kelly. That's the fight I really want to see but I don't think it will go down. Hopkins has dibs on Calzaghe, and they both really want to fight each other. And Kelly has his hands tied with a rematch with Jermain.

Calzaghe/Pavlik would be a possibly FOTY candidate I think.

In Calzaghe, what I see is a guy who throws a lot of weak punches, goes backwards against offense, and leaves himself wide open when trading shots. Granted he's a great fighter and an accomplished Champion, but I think Hopkins will **** him up, badly at that.

Most people here would probably disagree with that statement, but those are the same people who've been waiting for Hopkins to retire for years. With his unorthodox style, Hopkins makes very active opponets inactive by using bait tactics. With his roughhouse inside fighting, Calzaghe won't be throwing nearly as much against a guy like Hopkins.

I see Hopkins fighting a very brilliant/dirty affair that will probably be one of so ugly it'd make Hopkins/Wright look like a masterful performance.

Still I think Hopkins will beat Calzaghe and beat him badly at that.
I share the same sentiment. I see many more holes in Calzaghe than I do Hopkins and don't see Calzaghe pulling it off at this point.. Good post.

And he's disillusioned about that. He's not the draw anymore. It's about his opponents. So, he better be saving up on those credit card travel points because he's going to Britain.

Pavlik should fight Kessler if he betas Taylor. That would be FOTY and a fight that I think Kessler would win.
