Not at all that clear cut, sorry. The fact remains apparent that Hopkins has simply fought and beat better competition through out his career, as well as accomplishing more within his division, as well as above. Calz is not a 2 division, recognized world champion either, which is really only icing on the cake.

Anyway...please enlighten me to your thoughts on Hopkins being rated higher than say....Oh I don't know......Calzaghe for example..

By the way...No way Hopkins fights Calzaghe...he's ducked him in the past and knows he'll get his ass kicked if they fight now...

Just as well as Hopkins would make it a boring scrap..
Because he captured the LHW title at 42 years old, should have won the first fight against Taylor and should have drew the second............and recently roughed up the #2 at the time P4P fighter in the sport.

That in coalition with knocking out Oscar De La Hoya and Felix Trinidad.

There's no denying it. He's one of the best fighters in the sport.

Well, even if I go with the Hopkins history lesson, and agree that Hopkins has fought better opposition in the past..which I'm not totally happy to concede.(hold on, didn't he lose against Roy Jones?)....My point is...Why is he still there..
Losing twice against Taylor knocks you off the list period...

So how exactly was it Calzaghe is rated higher than Hopkins?

His three biggest career wins (Lacy, Kessler and Eubank) don't match the quality wins Hopkins has had. If you're going to point to the guys Hopkins beat as being blown up..........it's Important to note Lacy could have been green, and Eubank was definitely washed up.

I will concede That B-Hops resume is a Little more impressive than JC's.. But can you deny the rest of my post??? Is it not true Most of B-Hops best wins have come against Guys who "moved" up??? so although their names had more cred.. They were Not true Middle weights.. Which tarnishes his a wins a little.. especially if Credit is given to Floyd, for example, for moving UP... Which is saying the guy moving up is an disadvantage.. No?? Otherwsie why would people who do it.. get credit for it...

therefore I stick by my original statement.. Their achievments are more similar than not...

I don't think losing to Roy Jones 15 years ago should mean much in the scheme of things. We're talking about a P4P legend putting up a great fight........but showing he wasn't on the boxing level of maybe the greatest P4P fighter of all time next to Sugar Ray Robinson, in Roy Jones Jr.

Yeah as for losing to Taylor, I'd say that would knock someone off the list. Sure. But not when you follow up the losses by moving up to LHW and capturing the Undisputed Title.........then defend against the sports second best fighter.
