he is PR which is part of him but He mostly fight for himself. If he did he would be more crowd friendly like Tito and smile abit.

and in 24/7 they repeated more than once about Cotto fighting for himself. He looks like a person who is very professional that only get the in his mind " I must get the job done."

He has a poker face even out the ring which is kinda of odd

No matter what Cotto does, he will never be so loved like Tito. Tito was not just loved for the way he fights, but also because of his personality. Im not saying that Cotto has a bad personality, hes a nice guy but hes quiet and down to earth and doesnt talk much and is not as open and outspoken to his fans like Tito was. But i think he has the potential to be an better fighter as Tito was. We will see next Saturday.

No he's not and never will be.

Not in terms of ability, and not in terms of accomplishment.


But Miguel Cotto is one of the best all body punchers this sport has seen in a very long time and that's a special distinction. I'm not a very big fan of a guy who deliberately punches guys in the shoulder, hip, and back, with most of his body shots - but it gets the job done. Trade secret.

I dont think the Countdown did that at all. If you know anything about our people, is that we deeply support anyone from the Island who is a success. The promoter of PR Best Boxing stated that in the interview. Cotto clearly states that he does NOT want to be the next Trinidad.
As you said, Tito fought some legends and is a legend himself. Cotto is still ascending the ladder; but as far as the best CURRENT fighter from the Island, it IS Cotto. There's no denying that. Cotto and Calderon, to a lesser degree, are the best we have out there RIGHT NOW. Tito does something spectacular in his fight with RJJ, then he'll more than likely get those accolades back, regardless of RJJ current state. Tito is a legend in PR...and there is no changing that. But give Cotto his credit.

I agree with you. Tito expressed his pride outwardly. Cotto is an introvert; quiet, humble and shunning the spotlight (to a degree).
