What has he ever done that was unclassy? He gutted it out in a fight where he was being BADLY outclassed. And then he gave a very classy post-fight interview.

Why blame Jeff because the media oversold him ridiculously?
I don't think the media "oversold" Lacey. The media just underrated Calzaghe. Cal did not start getting real media accolades until after Lacy.

By no means was this last night's fight a blow-out. It was a very competitive affair where Calzaghe turned it to another level in the later rounds. But even still, Kessler showed what he was made of by taking that 12th round.
Lederman is big on who is pressing the action and imposing himself on the other. I like Lederman's perspective and I find myself agreeing with him more often times than not. He was dead on regarding the Floyd-Castillo I fight. Dead on.

I feel bad for Kessler, it's sad that he has to take it that way but I guess if you show me some one who isn't mad about losing I'll show you a loser and Kessler isn't that.. props to him for coming out with his feelings so soon, not being like Vic Darchinyan and being unprofessional about losing, Joe was the better man and had I bet money on him I would have won, Joe is amazing, now whats next is Hopkins.. leave Kelly Pavlik out of the mix because he still has unfinished business with Jermain, Jermain went straight after him immediately WITHOUT the titles on the line he was just so disappointed in losing, Pavlik has nothing to lose accept that 0 and Taylor has nothing to gain accept his pride back, if Pavlik is any bit of a man he wont jump at Joe even if he's given the chance, I KNOW Kelly is a warrior and he will do the right thing..

the right man won last night, it was 2 powerhouses going head on and it showed, they were hit with good shots but nobody folded, Joe just proved why for 10 years he has been unbeatable, he can now rest calmly and call himself Undisputed, Undefeated (44-0, 32KO's) Super Middleweight Champion of the world.. Joe was born to fight.. 100

Kessler needs to work on his footwork a LOT. He would have done so much better if he was circling around Calzaghe and throwing those power shots.

              Great fight

This fight was an example of a chess match at the highest level. Calzhage even ahead on points kept taking chances and was the aggressor in terms of moving forward and never taking a step back. Kessler also displayed that competitive heart that defines a champion. There is noooo reason to criticize Calzhage in the least after last night. He took flush punches well and fought back showing incredible heart. He switched his style up throughout the fight and really took more chances than he needed too. Maybe before the criticism was warranted but not after last night. Great fight and even in the last round everyone was still on the edge of there seats knowing that Kessler was still in the fight with one punch having the ability to change the complexion of the fight. Great night...great fight.

i would love to see calzaghe face hopkins now, in New York. that would be awesome and i would definitely be there. To tell you the truth i don't like calzaghe and was hoping he would get knocked out by kelsser, unfortunately that didn't happen. Even though i don't like him i know he is a beast and is better than i expected, but i would love to see him lose his first fight to hopkins in the states that would solidify benards career as a legitimate legend.

Calzaghe did a superb job against Kessler.

Before the fight I thought Kessler power (and speed) would be too much for Joe....but damn Calzaghe can adapt.

Mikkel had some succes with uppercuts, Joe adjusted and nullified this punch (for the most part).

Constant relentless pressure of Calzagne was too much for Kessler, like he did to Eubank.

If you watch the Lacy, Kessler and Eubank fights you see how Calzaghe handles punchers.

For now I hope a fight with Hopkins will materialize. (Although old Hopkins only "recently" beaten Wright and Tarver).
