That's exactly how I scored it as well. It was a great fight, a lot of tense moments in there. Kessler fought great and has nothing to be ashamed of, but Joe's style just seems to overcome everyone else's. But Kessler will be back with a vengeance, he's too good and everyone was right to say that he's no Jeff 'muscle bum' Lacey.

      All rounds 10-9:

      1. JC
      2. MK
      3. JC
      4. MK
      5. MK (close but Mik had the harder shots)
      6. JC
      7. JC (close, Joe pressing, and Mik again had some heavy shots)
      8. MK (Joe really only had the last 30 seconds)
      9. JC
      10. JC
      11. JC
      12. Whatever.

In fact, the scoring on this fight was very mayweather-ish. The fight was close/even through six or eight rounds, and then cal shut it down. My scorecard looked similar for The World Awaits.

I'm glad you did. For a while, I thought I was watching a different fight as the HBO crew and Lederman was giving round after round to Calzaghe. Meanwhile, I had it a close fight after 8 rounds.

It is fair to call Jeff Lacy a "muscle bum"?

What has he ever done that was unclassy? He gutted it out in a fight where he was being BADLY outclassed. And then he gave a very classy post-fight interview.

Why blame Jeff because the media oversold him ridiculously?

As for Kessler, he is a very classy guy. I was very impressed with his interview where he admitted that he was hurt, but he would fight for as long as he can stand.

It takes a real man to admit that. KUDOS
I too was mega impressed with his post fight comments even when he was asked again if his hand had been injured pre fight and he said it hadnt. I think he won many fans last night despite loosing, its so rare to see someone being gratious saying they lost fair and square and gave it their all.

I knew Calzaghe is going to win.

I give him even a pocket win against Hopkins this combos and flurries the upper weightclass are not used to it that much.

did yuou know Calzaghe doesnt spar hard he mostly does shadow box and conditioning must be the country air helping him

If Joe could fight Pavlik and Hopkins then I think that would be enough to cement his legacy. Maybe even Taylor aswell.

I've got news for you. Joe's legacy has already been established. He could retire right now and he's HOF and ATG.

I don't know what's up with the HBO crew these days. Me and a bunch of colleagues at work are getting sick of Lederman lately, the rounds end and I find myself often thinking, "what freaking fight are you watching", it's getting out of hand with Lederman especially and it's quite frustrating. By no means was this last night's fight a blow-out. It was a very competitive affair where Calzaghe turned it to another level in the later rounds. But even still, Kessler showed what he was made of by taking that 12th round.
