    Superb film, but don't go expecting LaMotta to have any redeeming features. The closest he comes to redeeming features is that he's ******.

            One of the best directed and acted films ever. The fight scenes are actually well done. They weren't done for realism more than symbolism. I think Scorsese just wanted to capture the brutality of Lamotta in the ring more than having realistic scenes.

              This is my favorite movie of all time i have it on display on my tv. I have seen it probably around 30 times or more throughout my life. I brilliant film

                Anyone who has said the fight scenes aren't realistic doesn't know **** about cinema. They were BY FAR the most realistic fight scenes at the time the movie came out. Extra attention went into making them realistic. Even 27 years after the movie came out, very few movies have boxing scenes as real-looking as those.

                  that merely shows how unrealistic fight scenes were then.

                  this movie still has people thinking lamotta was a skillless brawler with a lot of power. both of which are not true.
