Superb film, but don't go expecting LaMotta to have any redeeming features. The closest he comes to redeeming features is that he's ******.

One of the best directed and acted films ever. The fight scenes are actually well done. They weren't done for realism more than symbolism. I think Scorsese just wanted to capture the brutality of Lamotta in the ring more than having realistic scenes.Comment

Anyone who has said the fight scenes aren't realistic doesn't know **** about cinema. They were BY FAR the most realistic fight scenes at the time the movie came out. Extra attention went into making them realistic. Even 27 years after the movie came out, very few movies have boxing scenes as real-looking as those.Comment

that merely shows how unrealistic fight scenes were then.Anyone who has said the fight scenes aren't realistic doesn't know **** about cinema. this movie still has people thinking lamotta was a skillless brawler with a lot of power. both of which are not true.Comment
