oh ****. i read the thread title wrong. i thought it was some spiritual mumbo jumbo about feeling like you didn't really win if you're opponent isn't in a coma.

this is what bothers me regarding boxing:

        -don king
-the best not facing the best
        -corruption
        -fighters getting paid little
        -don king
        -organizations
        -bob arum
        -gary shaw
        -corruption
        -panama lewis
        -don king
        -corrupt judging
        -fighters getting ripped off
        -don king
-the mainstream media looking down on boxing
        -too many organizations

did i mention don king and other promoters robbing fighters, and corrupt organizations in boxing?

I'm sure this post is superflous in that it's not about to break any new ground, but WTF, it's one more post toward an imminent personal milestone: Anyone - ahead or behind - who's unable or unwilling ("no mas') to finish a fight, loses by default via TKO. The rule is universal, absolute and therefore, without grey areas.

And if may add my favorite pet peave - matches pitting fighters of opposite stances (ortodox vs. southpaw). I know it's inevitable, but it induces awkward lunges, toe stepping and inherently prevents in-fighting. This condition is made even more lackluster if both fighters are counter-punching "boxers." ZZZZZZZ...

it can often lead to headbutts too.

still i have seen my fair share of very entertaining lefty vs. orthodox fights.

franklin/saad muhammad-johnson 1 is probably in my all-time top 5. sithachatchawal-monshipour was awesome. pacquiao had good many good fights. moorer-cooper was great, and moorer-a. stewart and moorer-holyfield 2 were good. hamed-sanchez was entertaining.

it all really depends on the style i think.

I concede that there are exceptions, that there have been a few good fights, but I'm so ****-retentive about this issue, that when the bell rings, the fighters square off and I see one opponent's right foot touching the other's left, I'm immediately turned off. The scenario es aesthetically incorrect! It's like watching a couple of dancers perform, each with two left feet.
