Povetkin Powers Past Byrd To Advance

I keep thinking Povetkin has bit off more than he can chew and each time he proves me wrong. I am a believer.

he did ok against byrd but i was really not that impressed byrd had the slight edge in speed but didn't really do that much. povetkin was open for byrd's jab and every time he throw it it landed. povetkin was also very flat footed. but povetkin did enough to win and some of those body shoots he landed slowed byrd down by the end. Some say that he is the next heavyweight champ i don't think he is and i don't think he will beat wlad.

Good points. I have not yet seen the fight but in other fights he seemed slightly flat-footed as well. But either way he is on the fast track. But I agree, Wlad at this point is way too much for him.

It's nice to see new blood coming up in the Heavyweight ranks though. I really like the idea of the eliminator tournaments. I just wish all of the fights were on TV.

People are so desperate for the new blood in the division, they'll hype any above average prospect. You're right about his weaknesses. He only has 14 fights though, and defeating Byrd is quite impressive. He'll get murdered by Wlad though.

Anyone in this tourney would get killed by Wlad, it's good talent in the tournament and will be enertaining to watch but the final fight will be a massacre.
