Freitas has not shown (at least in his last few fights) that he cant hurt elite lightweights with his punches. Morales is now a lightweight, has never been knocked down except by Pacquiao. He has also been able to withstand a lightweight champ's punches. Same with a MAB who took all of Robbie Peden's punches as if they were nothing. Yet Pac knocked down these two at will.

Juan as well doesn't have that one punch KO, but his volume of punches is what makes him dangerous. Plus he has a good variety of shots to the head and body. That's what makes this fight a great matchup, it would be fun to see which man's will would break first.

First of all, decent post, finally. I'm impressed. Second of all, you should watch Freitas/Barrios.. and see one punch KO power. Manny smothers and strieks quick from angles, the punches you don't see, that are in bunches, and hurt. Freitas could literally change a fight with one hard shot. Well, any fighter can, but he did it when he landed a simple flush one. As far as his last few fights. He rocked Corrales, and then he fought an awkward Zahir Raheem, who everyone would have trouble hitting, let alone taggin hard enough to KD. Then he fought Juan, and even shook him a bit, though it was nothing serious. I'd go with Freitas, but Manny isn't weak by any means. You're entitled to your opinion.

Agreed I mentioned that earlier in this thread about Manny being a volume puncher as well. Manny might have a little more power, but that's at SFW, at LW they could be equal.

I wonder if i would never have upped the Diaz video of him getting knocked down, if this question would come up?

Juan is a proven fighter, he proved he can take a punch against Freitas who also dropped Corrales. And took on a good boxer with power in Julio Diaz and beat him.

Yes, Diaz can take Pacquiaos punch and will defeat pac.

Manny Pacquiao isnt going to have a one punch knockout of Juan Diaz if he has a knockout at all.

Pacquiao would have to outwork diaz until he wears him down THEN knocks him out.

same thing goes for diaz...i dont think he would have a one punch knockout of pacquiao...he would wear him down (like he did freitas and diaz).

best strategy for juan diaz is to use what worked for his last two fights...punches...combos...non-stop!

he wears you down plain and simple.

his best defense in the fight would be the non-stop offense (dont get me wrong he has pretty decent defense).

i think it would be an all action close fight that could really end in almost any fashion (i could see a decision just as well as a knockout)...

would be an incredible PPV if you ask me.

*I didn't bother to read the replies yet*

I laugh when I see people give Pacquiao a chance with Diaz, it befuddles me.. all Pacquiao actually does is wail off, he just has great stamina to uphold his barrages but for the most part he just wails off, Barrera tried to box him out in the last fight and even still he couldn't stop him from wailing off, Diaz WILL stop him, Diaz can move to Jr.Welter with ease if he wanted to him being a natural Lightweight. Don't get me wrong Pac Man is a lock in the Hall Of Fame and all but he ain't ****in with Diaz.. matter of fact I ain't even going to get into it, I don't want to have to make 100 replies on this sole topic, too many people on here **** ride Pacquiao then accuse another ***** of **** riding the other guy if he feels Pac will lose, no doubt Pac is a beast to be able
rise from 108 to 130 and triumph but the guy is only human, Diaz would destroy him besides Pac still got business to handle at 130..

it's not smart for a fighter to keep moving up in weight and changing his body, Pac is at a blown up weight as is, Tommy Hearns did it but we ALL should know Pac ain't no Hearns, I'm surprised he was able to do what he did in these past few years and TRUST ME I DO RESPECT HIM but Diaz is in another league, this guy is outboxing hard hitters who are NATURAL lightweights, Barrera and them are really Featherweights who made it up to 130 and Pac beating them was hard enough to believe and even still when Erik last had anything left and wasn't losing to the Zahir Raheems of the world (who by the was lost to POPO who quit against Diaz) he beat the **** out of Pacquiao and took a beating himself, point is Pacquiao lost and even the biggest Pac fan can admit that Morales and Barrera were reaching that over the hill state when Pac made his way to them..

Diaz is something else, he's naturally 135 with the potential to grow, the effects of the weight change alone on Pacquiao will **** with him too much, one thing is to put the weight on and one thing is for your body to rightfully absorb it, this was always my worry with Trinidad and I can't lie even though I pick Tito Light Heavy may not be for him, probably for that 1 fight but not after, if he puts on too much weight as Pac man did in his last fight he just has to train harder to lose it.. lolz imagine Pac man at 140 let alone 147, I would hate to see that happen to him.. 100

its a 50/50 fight really. diaz non stop combos and pac's speed and power. diaz has no one punch KO power and it can be argued that pac packs more power than he does. diaz wins via constant pressure nad pac wins fights in that fashion too. diaz is younger but pac is taller. its really a 50/50 fight. i hope it happens next year but im pretty sure it will happen in 2009 or 2010.
