  • hameed documentry before barera fight

anyone see the documentary that went out following hameed before the big fight and his first loss. Its like he never trained, went out all the time pissing about. He spared with a mexican guy for 5 minutes then said he needs a break and walks out. Dont get me wrong i still think he would of lost if he trained rigth but i dont think his mindset was right going into that fight.

thats not realy true. hamed had become lacklustre and fallen in love with his power completely forgetting his defense.

i'm not taking anything from barrera though he fought a great fight

Hamed was more interested in promoting Islam than winning the fight.

Barrera fought a good tactical fight and had one of the best performances of his career, Hamed had the worst night of his life and lost on points. It wasnt that bad

when he sent someone half way across the world to get some goat skinned boxing gloves i knew that the money had gone to his head. From there it was downhill.

Plus he hired Steward as his trainer, a man that didn`t even understand his style.

Brendan Ingle + 12 weeks of hard training would have beaten Barrera IMO. Hamed was at about 50% in that fight, unrecognisable.

Yeah it was on Channel Four, 'Little Prince, Big Fight'. He was being beaten up by sparring partners in luxury suites and more worried about his hair than anything, while Barrera is in a little hut in the mountains somewhere training like an animal.

If Hamed was so great why didn't he chase the rematch?

that only he knows. there was money to be made, he had such an exciting style and was a real character. the only thing i can think of is his ego. he was ****y and never thought he could be beaten. i mean he fought ocne more agaisnt a nobdy and looked ****. maybe he lost his hunger to train. barerra made him look silly, but he didn't get knocked out. i think he was at his peak with frank warren, and breandan ingle his trainer. not with his brother as manager and steward. steward is good for a certain type of fighter. not prince naz.

                  FYI

Oscar Suarez was Hameds main trainer for this fight. Steward didnt really have much input

I heard that Sept 11th delayed his return to boxing .He also invested money in the property market and has millions in his bank account so maybe that explains why he didn't continue!!
