If There were unsold seats for Hatton's previous fights, but this fight sold out in record time...what is the change? What is the difference?
And few/no Americans/Mexicans would travel overseas to see Floyd, Oscar, Vargas, Hopkins, etc.
Hell, Tyson fought overseas, and Americans didn't travel. Different cultures.Comment

You are missing the point.

But something CLEARLY CHANGED to go from 10K to demand for 40K. Agreed?
And THAT is what Ellerbe was saying. If Hatton was fighting Malignaggi or a Collazo rematch, would the ticket demans be what they are? Would there be 20,000 closed-circuit seats? Would Hatton be making $10 million? Would the arena sell out in 30 minutes?
Your hatred has you all tied up in knots to the point where you can't objectively analyze.Comment

Listen. This is easy.
There was no ticket shortfall for either Urango or Castillo. There were available seats. There was at least a 3,000 seat overhang. I can figure out simple supply and demand. So the point of equilibrium was 10K. That is what Hatton brought over.
By contrast, the Mayweather fight has created a ridiculous shortfall. With seat lotteries, allocations and waiting lists.
Is this coincidence?
REGARDING THE CULTURAL DIFFERENCES:
If Oscar Delahoya went to Europe to fight, he would not pack the arena with 20K American fans. When Mike Tyson fought overseas, he did not pack the arena with American fans. Americans are culturally different in that sense. Whether it is the amount of vacation time available, or the cost, or the entertainment options, whatever... it is different.
I'm not American, but it appears that the Yanks are way less stalkerrific (loseriffic?) regarding traveling boxers. Period. Dispute that.Comment
