Nothing but repesct for Taylor as a fighter. He can fight, he has speed and decent power, and most importantly, he took on hard fights. Saying he shouldn't have fought Ouma and Spinks because they usually fought at 154 is like saying Oscar took an easy fight for fighting Floyd at 154. It's not his fault as a fighter that he was awarded some decisions that some people thought he should've lost. Thats boxing.

As a fighter I have less respect for him. I have a harder time with people who hate a fighter because of their personality than their in-ring perfomance.

I guess we're just the opposite.
if you are talking about my hatred of hopkins, its just that, hatred, but i would be a liar to say i dont respect his skills...his legacy not so much and definatly not his ring antics, though...

This is the cut throat business. **** Taylor.
yeah, but I don't know what Taylor could have done to stop the onslaught. Pavlik is not a ghost, he's a cobra. Slow and deadly he plodds forward, the jab stunning the opponent and when it's time...BAM! The right hand loops out there with sparks on impact and his opponents go to sleep. Then the fight is over. Taylor will have no choice but to run and hope he can frustrate Pavlik's high pressure style. The results won't be differrent, unless Taylor can develope longer arms and wear headgear.

To say Taylor is an fought like an amateur is degrading to him and to everyone that he has beaten. What does that make of Winky and Hopkins if they lost to someone who fights like an amateur? Fact of the matter is he has some mistakes, a lot of boxers make mistakes, but he is still fighting at a champion level.

Of course, there's no reason why Taylor should be disrespected as a fighter.

Kind of sound like you wanted Taylor to win. You seem thoroughly dissapointed by the way he fought.

I know what Taylor could have done.. He could have gotten the **** out of the way everytime Pavlik locked on him. No less than 4 million people could see what was coming WHEN it was coming. Taylor was the 8,564,872nd person on planet Earth to realize Pavlik would throw his right hand bazooka shots all the times Taylor got hit with them. One of the dumbest fought championship bouts in the history of the sport.

                      You called it.

Taylor was better than he showed. But you're only as good as you show.

I also didn't appreciate Jermain allowing himself to be hurt like that.

He had NO business fighting Pavlik. NONE.

I can't respect him for that. The fashion in which he allowed himself to be taken out would piss off a weekend father training his kid at the YMCA in a non-amateur bout. It was outrageous.
