That's the same thing they said about Buster Douglas when he faced Tyson, and we all know what happened there! If Tarver can knock Roy Jones from his thrown, Hatton can definitely knock Floyd off of his.
Let's throw out the RJJ example. We all know that Roy was past his best days, and we had seen a competitive first fight with RJJ.

If you are giving Hatton a Buster-esque chance, then you are doing your man a disservice. Hatton is only a 3-1 dog. I think Buster was like 40-1 or something.

What are you talking about?? He holds himself out as the official professor of boxing on this site.

Azteca is the most knowledgeable boxing authority in America. Haven't you heard?

I still chuckle when people make try to make the case for Baldomir being an elite fighter.
I haven't seen anybody make a case for baldo being an elite fighter.

But Baldo has some elite characteristics. And those qualities enable him to be a tough fight for any of the top guys.

Judah and Gatti prolly don't think he sucks. And while he got damn near shut out in both, he gave FMJ and Viper a couple of long nights.

that guy can voice his opinion, and hatton can his. BUT hatton is the one fighting and can actually try and do what he can do to win. any punch can make a difference. if it was a dead certainty then why watch the fight?

            JC,

How would you describe the Hatton performance vs Urango? Did you feel that was an exciting fight?

First you have to have real punching power to make a difference with any punch. Hatton isn't a heavyweight although he doesn tend to blow up in the 200lb range.

All im trying to say is that Hatton is definitely a live underdog here. For anyone to say that either fighter will DEFINITELY win, they have to be an idiot. In boxing and sports in general, there is something called " an upset". Im giving Hatton a 40% chance in this fight, due to his relentlesness, workrate, stamina, rough-house tactics, and the timeframe for which he had time to prepare and train. If the ballerina thinks he can avoid engaging, and keep his punch output to a minimum (as he's been doing lately), he's crazy. Hatton knows that he CAN'T outbox Floyd, so he will not go in with those intentions. That's where Gatti went wrong. Hatton will turn this boxing match into a Fight. It should be an interesting clash of styles.

They are fighting in a boxing ring. Not a football field. So if hatton isn't able to catch Floyd, then that means that all the people who said that hatton has the STYLE to beat FMJ were wrong.

If it is a clash of styles, and hatton isn't able to execute his style....

If the Patriots were going to play the Texans next week, do you think it would be fair to say "I don't see any way that the Texans can win".

That's a bodypunch/liver punch. That doesn't tell a fighter's power. Besides Castillo laid down in that fight. He was washed up and didn't want it anymore. He gave up kinda like Morales gave up in his 3rd fight against Pacquiao.
