He doesn't know who floyd was supposed to fight at that time. He will proably give you a current welterweight as his answer. The dip**** was browsing through Boxrec and looked up Floyd's resume and is talking out of his ass. That's all. He wasn't even watching boxing back in those days.

True story-And- After the highly anticipated match-up, we can all agree on one thing, 39 have tried and 39 have failed. How many times are motha****as gonna write about this. Who gives a **** its in the past. Focus on whats going on now and move on. All this "Floyd hasn't fought anybody" **** is getting old. Its just sick how some of you "hate" a man who has done nothing to you. And plus you make it sound like floyd is the only fighter who has fought no named people. I was looking at different fighters opponents and I saw alot of people that I never heard of on their records. And yes I'm talking about greats like Ali, Frazier, Robinson, etc. So what makes floyd so different? Seriously some of you people on this forum have too much hate in your heart, your sick, and you need to get some ****ing help.Comment

Can anyone remeber a champion, ment to be the greatest, most people call him this, i like to think its just a cool nick name for a fighter.....lost to a guy with 7 fights? Leon Spinks? i mean yea that guy was old, but surely he could still whoop a guy with 7 fights....just think about **** like that when you wanna say guys like Floyd or other fighters are fighting bumsComment

i only want to say i never bitched about it, i know Floyd couldnt have fought anyone else than he fought wich is why i respect his resume, i only said his victory over Genaro Hernandez is blown out of proportion...because genaro, while the most difficult fight at that moment, is no ATG or anything.....thats all....So let me get this straight...
You all are bitching because Floyd took on a bunch of good fighters with good records... the only problem with them is that they were unproven on the elite level.
Hmm.
These people were probably labeled as "prospects".
Angel Manfredy beat Arturo Gatti beforehand, who was also a "prospect". Kind of like Kelly Pavlik beat Edison Miranda, and people praised Taylor for fighting Pavlik.
Goyo Vargas beat an undefeated Ben Tackie for his fight... dropping a prospect who was probably supposed to beat him, so he earned his title shot against Mayweather.
And then you all ***** because he fights Genaro Hernandez, the established champion, who only had one loss to a man who went undefeated at 130 in Oscar De La Hoya.
So, let me ask you all a question, who the **** was he supposed to fight at 130?
I notice you left Diego Corrales off, because that is someone he was supposed to fight.
You left Jesus Chavez off, the one prospect who actually developed into something good (the case can sort of be made for Manfredy too).
But seriously, who was he supposed to fight?Last edited by -Hyperion-; 10-19-2007, 01:44 PM.Comment

usally most boxer need a big time win to have a name.
Duran had SRL
SRL was impressive gold medalist.
another thing, with many people disagree with me in here and flame me, Mayweather is better than Duran.
I the more I seen into boxing the more I see Mayweather as a very tough fighter that is pretty hard to beatComment

please, i suppose you meant to say it was not 126, it was 130....because genaro didnt fight at lightweight,...and you say it like he was suddenly this superman at 130 with great wins.....his best wins is an SD over a 60 year old Azumah Nelson, Genaro was very good....but i only see Floyd getting credit for beating him, while in De La Hoya's resume he is just another name....Comment

Its also how and when Floyd beat him, Floyd had only had 18 fights and was expected to get whopped by Genaro, but he came in, dominated him and stopped him.please, i suppose you meant to say it was not 126, it was 130....because genaro didnt fight at lightweight,...and you say it like he was suddenly this superman at 130 with great wins.....his best wins is an SD over a 60 year old Azumah Nelson, Genaro was very good....but i only see Floyd getting credit for beating him, while in De La Hoya's resume he is just another name....Comment

De la Hoya had 18 fights and was 22....not a big difference of Floyd's 17 and 21.....and its not like nobody gave floyd a chance...people thought it was too soon, but Floyd was highly regarded...Last edited by -Hyperion-; 10-19-2007, 02:04 PM.Comment
