Tell me why you love Kostya Tszyu so much, without using anything that sounds remotely close to "He unified the 140 pound titles. Something that hasn't been done in over 20/30 years."Comment

IN "30 years" is the fact.
To answer your question, it's because I believe he was a very talented boxer and had great power. It's an admirable combination.Comment

Here's what Tszyu did to Miguel Angel Gonzales all night. IT finally ended with a TKO in the 10th. Now you watch this and think real hard about what life was like at 140 with Tszyu in the division. And as an aside, prime Oscar won a comeback 12 round UD against the same Miguel Angel Gonzales. [note...this fight occurred at 135]Comment

Do you think styles make fights? Furthermore, you realize that Oscar did this TWO year BEFORE Kostya Tszyu did. Right? (Didn't knock him out, but won a pretty easy UD) Oscar gave him his first loss, did it just as impressively, and did it younger and sooner.

You know, part of the reason that Kostya Tszyu never got the big fights, or the most coverage, is because he was beat by a very ordinary fighter in Vince Phillips. HBO kinda soured on him, at that point. Or, to put it more correctly, they started to lose faith in him as a staying power, draw.Comment
