It's obvious that Pacquiao is the bigger draw. He's the only boxing superstar in the Philipines...perhaps the only TRUE superstar period!

MAB doesn't draw them in like he used to, but he's far from being a bad draw. I was at three of his fights in Las Vegas in the past couple of years and all drew large crowds and descent PPV buys. His fight against Robbie Peden (not a big name) was nearly a sellout at the MGM. His rematch with Rocky Juarez and his fight with JMM also brought in good crowds.

Anyway, long gone are the days when Julio Cesar Chavez was Mexico's only true boxing superstar. At any given time, Mexico has several world champs and at least 3 or 4 star fighters that bring in big crowds. MAB, Morales, Arce, etc.

Barrera has not had a big PPV number without pacquiao or morales. In the instances where barrera fought other guys, his numbers were low. And we have a lot of PPV's as a sample size: Peden. fana, marquez, Juarez.

I don't usually follow PPV buy numbers, except when I read them on a site like this. At the same time though, how well do Pac or Morales PPVs do without a big name? I'm just saying, it usually takes a good opponent to get really good numbers. Unless of course you're De la Hoya! I could fight that guy and we'd still get a half million buys! As a matter of fact, we're at the same weight, I might start calling him out!

For real though, for example, how many PPV buys did the Pacquiao-Solis fight do?...which also had a good Mexican undercard fight with Arce-Mijares.

Barrera is far from Pac's level on being that big of a draw...I think I explained it pretty well why though in my previous post.
