...floyd is very popular in the black and hip hop community, just because that community is underrepresented on this board, doesnt mean he doesnt have a big fanbase in that regard, trust me, he does.

i agree with this. if these guys were real boxing fans they would not support a man who is a coward and a duck. he is the most boring fighter in all of boxing and he has ducked the best many times. i would not be proud to be a fan of this man but his fans support him because hes black and thats it. he would not have many fans if he was white and he would have no fans if he wasnt #2 p4p.

I have to agree. Floyd fans are usually fall into the category of 16-25yr old black hip hop fans. Not always the case, but USUALLY. Me myself am a fan of hip hop, and fan of hip hop artists who carry themselves with a bit of class. But to me, the way Floyd acts out in public is just a disgrace. I sometimes feel embarrased for him.

...if mayweather was white he would be one of the most popular fighters of this generation easily.

Are u telling me that Tyson wasnt popular througout the black and hip hop community? Tyson was a ****** legend! Tyson was from the slums of Bklyn, and had the up most respect from the hip hop/black community's. The reason Tyson had a much much much bigger following/fanbase than Floyd is because of thier fighting styles. Tyson went in the ring with the intentions of taking your ****ing head off. Floyd goes in the ring with intentions of winning a boring/safe 12 round points decision.

Man, give it up. Nobody who fought like Floys did in his last two fights will ever be popular, whether he be black, white, brown or yellow. People will always go for the warriors, regardless of race.

Oh dont even mention Mike and Floyd in the same sentence. They both may have hit women, but only one had the warrior heart.

Surely there are a few ******s on every side including hatton fans or any other fan. It's how you express your opinions not who's fan you are.
good post, thats wut i was tryin to say in another thread, and guess what they called me? a "delusional nuthugger", not in those exact words, but basically thats the gist.

tyson's fanbase is absolutely huge, but that isnt my point, floyd definately has a fanbase with his own people is my point, tysons fanbase went far beyond just black people, what im saying is if you were on this board during his comeback trail, the arguments went on for years about him coming back and being heavyweight champion again until it was finally over in 2005, and the fans were just as obessive on both ends.

to say floyd has NO fanbase is wrong is what im saying though, he has a sizable one, but mostly with his own people.
