Since we all know Floyd is overrated, the question is

Why in hell's name is he so overrated? What motivated the Floyd hype machine to spread all these lies? Was boxing really in need of a new superstar?

he isn't overrated, or hyped. Agree his last two fight didn't satisfied me, and i'm not a fan of him, but we must all agree, he is a boxing master

If he is such a boxing master, why did he lose to an unfocused Castillo? Or keep on fighting bums like Corley, Bruseles, and Gatti? Or run from Baldomir? Or ducked a whole lot of fighters? Or A WHOLE LOT OF THINGS? Why?

So why is he overrated? Does anyone or any group benefit from this fighter being overrated?

If Mayweather was English or European with that exact same record of oponents he would be classed as a 'Euro-bum'!

Unfortunately US boxing is lacking a poster boy.
              No heavyweight champ.
And a bunch of faded stars in Hopkins , RJJ , Evander etc etc etc.
This is why Mayweather has been groomed to be a "Superstar".
              Clutching at straws really.
BUT they might have a saviour in Kelly Pavlik as he has proved he is willing to fight anyone and with HEART.

First of all the judges scored for floyd, so let this bull **** with he losed too castillo, then everybody fought bums, that's ****** too just pick some names, i can't say cotto just foughts some bums like corley, maussa, branco, but that ain't true so stop hating. floyd fought other decent fighter like corrales, castillo twice, gatti ( wasn't so bad at junior welterweight so give him more respect), dela hoya, judah, hernandez, jesus chavez...

                so stop hating on mayweather.

PS : at junoior welter everyone wanted him to fight Hatton, now he fights him at welterweight, and now everybody is like, yeah he fears williams, cinton or margarito...

because at 140, it would have been a better fight.

                  Floyds ring size
                  floyds golve size
                  floyds country
                  floyds hometown

Yeah, the double standard is always used when it comes to Floyd.
