Sure the **** is. Margarito is a product of promotion. He has never won a meaningful fight and never will, which is exactly why he's fighting Golden Johnson. The top dogs in the WW division are squaring off against each other and other top fighters and leaving this bum alone. In terms of keeping him at 147 to feast on smaller fighers.....yea. Smart managing. The guy has fought at 154, got his ass beat and moved back down to 147. That's smart managing in terms of making a guy look better then he actually is. In reality he is a natural 154lb fighter.

Other then that, no smart managing. The guy has been inactive and when he did fight he fought guys like Gomez who has 10 losses on a Top rank ppv.
Didn't fight for months again and then fights Clottey........then he waits it out until he is forced to defend his title against his mandatory.

Now he is fighting Golden Johnson.....Who?????

No one else for him to fight. Judah probably would have stepped in, but they dont have enough money to pay him. Johnson probably wont even make six figures. Most of the top guys will demand that. These PPV's have a budget.

Lets just be glad that there is another big name fighting on the undercard. I think Arum is trying to get Marg a W on his recod so he can set up a fight with Cotto anyway.

Maybe if Cotto loses and Margarito wins they can fight. That would be fine by me. I've been waiting to see Cotto bust his ass since they first started talking about that fight. I'm sure Arum would still make the fight even if Cotto won (greedy bastard). But either way, Margarito isn't going to win a legit title with guys like Cotto, Mosley, Mayweather and Williams at WW.
