Was Arce drunk?... Why would you just pick a fight in the middle of nowhere without provokation. I don't think Gerry would've obliged him, the professional that he is, in the ring maybe.. I like Arce but thats kinda nuts..

Arce's public drunkeness just got himself the worst beatdown of his life. Mijares schooled him, Penalosa will kill him, and kill him slowly!!

Arce doesn't have a jab, and can only go forward, Penalosa is gonna have a field day! The only type of fighters Penalosa has had problems with are fighters who are tall, rangy, cautious types...... Arce is not tall, Arce is not rangy, and Arce is everything but cautious. Unlike P*ssy DeLeon who ran against Gerry, Arce will be in front of you throwing w/ mean intentions, this plays right into Gerry's beautiful counter-punching skills and accurate punching. Gerry can throw every punch in the book and to top it all, he's a southpaw. This spells nightmare for Arce.

I can see Gerry knocking out Arce out as early as the 7th round or the ref or ring doctor will be forced to stop the fight due to Arce's face looking like carnitas. This fight ain't goin' the distance folks.

i think this threads a bit BS! i was at the mandalay bay that night and arce was all smiles and jokes. i met arce a few times b4 and sat next to him ringside hes actually a great swell guy actually!

Arce may have been smilin' and jokin' around a fan or fans. But like his nickname indicates, he can be a bit of a troublemaker as well. anyway, If the story is true. I can't wait for this matchup to happen. I think it's a bit of a mismatch actually. Penalosa gonna give him a hellacious beating.

I say screw PDL and just go for Arce...If this is going to be Gerry's last fight he should go out in dominating fashion againts a great fighter... Gonzales fought on his bicycle and was rangy for Penalosa who had to reach for someone running away. PDL is young and getting better I think and too big for Gerry.. Arce is perfect. I think that would be a good fight..
