Lennox Lewis caught a lucky ****in break IMO, Vitali was on mission in this fight and there is no doubt in my mind that he would've KO'd Lewis in the 7th round.
In the 6th round Lewis caught Vitali with those vicious uppercuts and the Iron Chinned Vitali took them like they were nothing. Vitali came back and pretty much dominated the rest of the round and Lewis was ready to go. Vitali was also leading 58-56 on all the cards.
Vitali was fighting with that disfigured eye for 4 rounds and it wasn't effecting him, the doctor should have given Vitali 1 more round because that's all he needed to put Lewis away.
In the post fight near brawl you can see that Vitali is still angry, determined and motivated, while Lewis looks half dead and scared about what would've happened if there was a 7th round.
Vitali was too tough, determined and he had too much heart to let Lewis take him in the 7th. There was no way Lewis was gonna KO the Iron chinned Vitali in the 7th. With the 1 minute rest, Vitali would have gone for broke and caught Lewis with another right hand ending the fight and tarnishing Lewis' legacy.
