Why do Americans Hate Overseas Fighters ?

Sure skills, but race plays a part. A lot of American whites expect athletes to be black, and discriminate against a white athlete.

When I mention that white athletes are discriminated against, which I take for indisputably true, I mean mainly by white people. It makes no sense and drives me nuts, but it's part of the ***** ass white boy inferiority complex.

I have no sense of that complex, but I see it and I hate it.

That always seemed odd to me. It's like stereotyping people. Just because there is one white person and one black person doesn't mean the black person will be more athletic, it is pretty ignorant now that I think about it.

Nobody can deny that there's both a Race and Nationalistic side to boxing. People like to cheer more for fighters they can identify with, rather than guys they cannot. Every Country seems a bit biased towards their homeland's devolpment of fighters, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I myself an an American fight fan and I cheer for overseas fighters just as quickly as I do my own. I don't buy into the Nationalistic aspect of the sport, I just cheer good fighters. I love Wladimir Klitschko and Joe Calzaghe. I also like Ruslan Chagaev, Oleg Maskaev, Ricky Hatton and Junior Witter.

I don't think it's that Americans "hate" overseas fighters. It's just that Americans would rather root for someone representing their own country rather than from another country. Just like the British, Pinoys, Mexicans and most other countries root for their country's fighter.

Americans are the only people in the world that have everything in their country,every oppurtunity, and they are still unhappy. Americans(white and black) have gone SOFT from living in a rich economic country where you can get anything you want.

The REAL ******'s are in Eastern Europe. When I was a kid my dad was beaten half to death right in front of me by a gang of thugs because he wouldn't give them his money. Thankfully my dad survived and he is healthy today. It is a terrible place over there, you American's have got it easy as ****.

I for one never take what I have for granted because I know how bad it can be out there. So I appreciate everything I have and I believe I and some others are truly blessed. That being said it doesn't hurt to help those in need. That's why I am going overseas to help after I graduate.

Yup, Geography has as much to do with a fan's favorites as any other factors. Most of us here are just here for the sport, and I'll cheer for any fighter who impresses me, regardless of where he hails from.

But man, you haven't been born or lived in Eastern Europe like me. The Russian Mafia runs everything, including the corrupt police. There are thugs, Drug Dealers and gangsters everywhere. I was even involved in a Junior youth gang when I was a kid, but I eventually moved overseas. If I didn't leave Eastern Europe I would have been killed or ended up in jail. I am extremely thankful.

And I will agree with you,especially the above....cause yes,I have everything I want.A 4000 sq foot home,new cars for me and the wife...I even bought my daughter a new car.
I am sooooo happy to be in America...dispite it's flaws,it is still the greatest place in the world.

And you are correct...you Euro guys have taken over the sport.Euro-fighters come from the real ******s and are simply hungrier.Americans are now fat-cats and guys that could be great fighters are playing American football.

It's pretty clear to me that Americans despise and are jealous of the invasion of overseas fighters. Is it because overseas fighters are White or is it just a nationalistic patriot dumbass thing? The two overseas areas that get hated on the most are definately Eastern Europe and the UK because some of the best fighters in boxing are from these areas. If I got a Dime for every Hatton,Calzaghe and Wlad Hate Thread I would be livin it up in Hawaii for the rest of my life, partying every night.

Being an Eastern European, I am sickened at the amount of hate that you Americans show towards us. NEWSFLASH, The Cold War is Over and you won. I'm happy as **** the Cold War ended because it allowed Eastern European fighters to turn Professional and take over boxing .

Overseas fighters will continue to get better and they are here to stay, so get used to it Americans.

It's because they can't accept that they have nothing else to show.
