What bothers me is that he never seems to get any credit even when he deserves it. What do I mean by that? No, I'm not asking you to kiss his ass for his wins against Judah, De la Hoya or, should he win, against Hatton. But every time there is an impending Mayweather fight there are always people picking the other guy- because, as you say, Floyd is a coward, weak, a runner and this other fighter is going to teach him a lesson. I saw many people pick Zab Judah, despite his Baldomir loss, to whoop Floyd's ass. When he won he didn't get any props from the guys saying he should lose. Same thing against Oscar.

Why? Because some of you don't like the way he wins. His style bores you, disgusts you, annoys you- you just don't like the pure boxing, stick and move technique he employs. So, is Floyd a coward for facing weak opposition? Well, it's hard to call him a coward when there are always a bunch of fans on these forums picking the other guy to beat him- that must mean he's fighting a live opponent. Yet, when it's all said and done, there's always a reason why the opponent was not up to snuff and Floyd is still ducking people.

I still remember people talking about how Mayweather was running from Margarito....where are you now? Antonio doesn't even hold a belt. People said he was running from Ricky...and now? You can dislike Floyd but at least be consistent. If he is fighting bums stop picking those bums to beat him. That just lends credence to his fights that you obviously do not agree with.
Hatton no bum. If Floyd knocks out Hatton, then I'll get on the gravy train. But, nothing Floyd can do will ever rectify the fact that he avoided Tszyu. You cannot go around claiming that your the best welter weight in history, and not fight the guy that's holding the title, held the title for a decade, and is HOF at 140. You cannot do it. Tszyu is a big black hole in Floyd's record.

My answer to the question is now.

      A counter question:

Will Viva Mexico spend his life retreading tires or selling drugs?

No, he has an exciting career waiting for him in janitorial arts.

He obviously isn't a coward, he wouldn't be the #1p4p fighter if was. Personally though, I'm not a big fan of is pot shot style. People like to say he's a complete fighter, in reality though he's too defense minded to be a complete fighter. If only if he was more offensive then I would say he is a complete fighter. He pot shots his way too victory which isn't pleasing to the fans and a major turn off imo, and since he has limited power you expect him to throw more punches so he can hurt his opponent. I've never seen FMJ put pressure on his opponent, but hey every boxer has his own style and slipping and countering most of the time seems to work for him. None the less I enjoy watching him fight, because I prefer the technical side of boxing then the straight brawling matches.

Look at his first 30 fights then. His last 3 or 4 are the only ones which are commented on.

I am not going to lie, I thought the results would be the other way around with some of the posts I have seen on this site. I guess there are only 19 ignorant users here at the moment.

Even worse, just his last two.

Which is why Manny will have a shorter career.
