i wonder if what arum and roach says gets under floyd's skin and he decides to fight the winner of Cotto/Mosely. If that doesnt work the winner should just call floyd boring.

BOB ARUM: Well, you know, there are a number of aspects that make a great fighter. One is speed. His speed is phenomenal. The way he throws punches, phenomenal. The way he is conditioned, phenomenal. I mean, he’s the entire whole package. And beside all of those skills, he is the – again, put Ali aside – and I was just those couple of years with Ali were, I mean, maybe because my eyes were younger then, but put Ali aside, other than Ali, he’s the most intelligent fighter that I have ever seen. I mean, Floyd, this is no bull****; Floyd can see a punch coming before the other guy knows he’s going to throw it. Do you understand that? I mean, I have never seen such ring intelligence that Floyd demonstrates.
And so he’s the whole package, and you know, Ray Leonard was a great fighter, Marvin Hagler was a great fighter, Duran certainly was great, Oscar had a couple of years where he was very good, but there’s nobody that is a whole package like Floyd.

Seems like arum contradicted hisself. I guess peoples opinions can change.

I assume the quote from Dios is when Floyd was still under Top Rank.

Arum is interested in making his fighters look good, and that's it. This quote lacks objectivity.

          boxfan,

          1) see post #10

          2) Arum is trying to get his man Migs a big payday. Last year, it was Margarito. Next year, it will be somebody else.

Bob and I have the same alma mater... but he is a slimy dude.

I guess that comes with the territory of being a promoter.

You go from being the best since Ali - "better than Leonard, better than Duran" - - to being worse than Miguel Cotto.

Viva Mexico clowned himself. Viva was doing a SupaHead on Arum. Let's see what Viva says now.

That's why nobody should believe what promoters say. Their job is to promote. Ask him that same question now, and he'll look at you like you're ******.

                  good ole arum.

at least he was honest when he said 'yesterday i was lying, today i am telling the truth'.

well maybe he was lying about that. maybe on that day, he was lying but had told the truth the previous 2 days.

Oh I forgot about that. Whatever the case that was then this is now.

But guys like Viva and Moofo see a headline like that and they start ******* off all over the monitor.

These promoters make a TON of money on thie fighters. As soon as the fighter stops making money for them, they are discarded.

A novice boxing fans (Moofo) take Arum's word like it's the Qu'ran.
