It sounds like your describing the Zab fight and Zab is no Mosley

That maybe true but Cotto is also not a lefty like Collazo and he's big but not nearly as huge as Vargas so it all averages out

Here's my final take guys. Pretty much all the Cotto fans say the same thing about how he will wear Mosley down and dominate in the 2nd half of the fight. To me that just sounds like the Zab fight and every other fight Cotto has had. Thats why you guys say that but Cotto has never fought anyone like Shane. Even if he wins he wont win like that. He's not going to make Shane crumble or just dominate him down the stretch. Shane is far too fast, he's bigger then nearly anyone Cotto has faced, and he's fought in too many big fights against elite guys for him to just be train wrecked like that.

You guys are basically saying like it will be a picnic for Cotto with the way Shane fights but I bet anything that Shane thinks that this will be the easiest big fight of his career. For once he gets to have a big fight against a guy his own size instead of fighting these huge tall monsters like always. He probally thinks he will kill a guy his own size like Cotto and he wont run from him at all. People are saying that Cotto has to get close but I say he'll definatly be close because Shane thinks he can kill Cotto toe to toe. He wont run from him that much. He might box some and give him some angles but you know that Shane will go toe to toe with him because I bet anything that he feels like he can do everything Cotto can do but better.

Everyone sweats Cotto's power but like Shane said, he had the best KO ratio in history until the Forrest fight. He probally feels like he hits harder then Cotto, is faster, is stronger, has fought better guys, and has much better big fight experince. I think Mosley will try to overwhelm Cotto which is the exact opposite of what most people think

Zab faded for 2 reasons: Cotto's relentlessness and Zab's lack of determination.

Mosley will fade for 2 reasons: Cotto's relentlessness and Shane's simply not a young buck anymore.

He can look impressive against guys like Collazo and Vargas. Cotto will fight every minute of every round and Shane wont be able to do it for a full 12 rounds. Shane in his prime probably blasts Cotto pretty easily... but it's simply not the case in 2007. It will be a good fight though.

That is all going to depend on Mosely throwing those flurries. I haven't seen Mosely fight with combinations like the old Mosely at 130 lbs. since moving up to the welterweight and junior middleweight division he has yet to impress his following.

I don't even think of this like the Judah fight at all. Judah is a southpaw for one, and he doesn't go to the body much. Mosley is conventional and goes to the body a lot. Mosley throws a lot of three-five punch combinations. Judah didn't throw many combinations at all. Its just a completely different fight.

And to answer your question. He'll deal with them the same way he did Malignaggi. Keep his hands up, his chin down, and press forward. If Cotto is forced to fight backwards, he'll do that too.

I can only imagine a boxing clinic being put on by Shane the night of the fight. He is faster appears to be stronger his ring genralship is vet savy, (only if Jermiane Taylor had that) he doesnt tend to get backed-up and his a very crafty fighter. The key for sucsess for him is gong to be the counter-uppercut his going to need to keep Cotto back and aware with stiff jabs and his going to need to diversify and work the body just as well as the dome!

Shane Mosley is going to stun Cotto with a left hook in about the 5th round. Once he does this he will jump on Cotto and finish him off. This fight is going to be easy for the strongest Mosley we will have seen in a very long time. Shane is 36 but he's a gym freak so his body is really more like 27. He will not be run over by Cotto's body shots and he knows what to expect. Cotto has swiss cheese type holes in his defense and the fast hands of Mosley are going to exploit this. This fight is going to be easyyyyyyyyyyyy...

Cotto is going to get knocked out Jermain Taylor style...brutally, but this time in the center of the ring instead of the corner.

                      Remember this post.
