If PBF beats Hatton i will give PBF credit. But i would somehow at the back of my mind think it was only a victory because Hatton changed the way he fought because of the things pBF has said that helped him beat Hatton and under normal circumstances Hatton would beat PBF.

1) it's not changing the subject. It is called a relative analysis. When you are looking to hire somebody, you compare the two resumes. When you are deciding who to vote into the HoF, you compare the candidates. When you are considering who to rank in the p4p, you compare their accomplishments.

Unfortunately, boxing is not like baseball or basketball where everybody plays the same competition. In baseball, you can say team A is better than team B simply because they have the better record. They earned that right.

Boxing is more like college football. So I'm required to do a BCS-type analysis where I take into account "strength of schedule"... nahmean?

2) It is unfair to say "let's take this three year span where PBF fought subpar opposition" and focus on that. NOBODY WANTED TO SEE FLOYD AGAINST TOP GUYS MORE THAN ME. But Hatton turned him down. Twice. Cotto turned him down, Tszyu was a promotional/TV barrier.

And during that span, he moved up TWO weight classes.

Nearly every top fighter you can name in the modern era had a span of time where his competition was soft. That is the nature of the sport now. Who has SSM fought since his last Winky fight? Who did hatton fight the first eight years of his career? Who did Oscar fight between Pernell and Quartey? Such is the sport we love.

And I still maintain that on may 5th, Oscar Delahoya would have beaten damn near every WW, and he would have demolished Ricky Hatton and anybody that Ricky Hatton has ever fought.

I just want to know your solution. Because you have never responded back to a single post of mine saying X fighter is good. I am thoroughly convinced that you don't think anyone is good enough for the top fighters to fight. If they are good enough today, they are not after they lose. Proven fighters are too old. Young fighters are too unproven. Can't win with you.
