The punches just caught up to him...
in the 7th, he took a perfect right hand (the one you saw on the slow mo cam), stood there to keep fighting, took another right hand that backed him into the corner...then Kelly finished him...
he took quite a few clean right hands on the chin throughout the fight....he has a good chin, but there is only so much ANY human body can take vs a big puncher

I don't think Taylor realized how hard Pavlik hits. It's something he never dealt with and was'nt ready to handle. Getting hit in the face by dudes like Winky Wright and Cory Spinks is not the same as getting hit in the face by Pavlik.
To his credit though, he did take some good shots, but in the 7th Pavlik landed the straight right VERY clean. When he got hit with that first 1-2, It froze him. He did'nt try to defend himself. He did'nt try clinch. He did'nt even change his stance or try to move out of the way. He took 2 baby steps backward and then came the second 1-2, which he basically standing still for. That one REALLY hurt him AND sent him into the corner.
The rest was unneccessary but unfortunately for Talyor, I think he was too stunned to even think to take a knee.

Id hate to fight guys like JT though. His face dont change so you dont know if he is hurt. Real poker faced looking. Even when he was down it only looked like he was taking a breather.
But he must have been hurt real bad to not try and get up.

Nah....it's the brain damage that causes that.

Taylor has a monster chin as I always thought he would have when it was tested. He has that solid facial structure that allows for a lot of punishment. Pavlik said he hit him with his best shots many times so it was definitely an accumulation of punishment.

Taylor actully showed great chin, took tons big shots from Pavlik through the 7 rounds. I have no idea how he took that right hand without going down and Pavlik's finishing combination was just brutal.
Pavlik has unbelivable punching power.
