I was let down i put all my reasoning and heart into a victory for Jermaine and he looked like he was going to fulfill the pick but, ultimatly let a guy who said experience was going to be the difference from the amateurs to yesterday and he was right. JT really let me down and being a guy who tends to favor the 0 in record it will be hard to root for him any more!

This is your problem. Just because Taylor's family and friends may be in the main, of African descent has nothing to do with his motivations. If Jermaine has one white friend, then this automatically renders your argument invalid. Same as applied to Pavlik, but viceversa. What ultimately makes it invalid is that it is highly unlikely that this is the mode of thinking by which most boxers go by in preparation for a fight. "Race" is simply an after thought and you apply your own categorization system based on an arbitrary, social taxonomy of "black and white", that is totally out of context to these fighters and sane boxing fans

I said the majority, of course Jermaine has white friends last time i checked Manny Steward had a little white in him and his family, its not a white, black thing its a Jermaine Taylor, Kelly Pavlik thing one just happens to be white the other not!

I just have to put my .02 in here. How the hell are you going to try and change what your saying around??? I just have to pick your statements apart, you say that America enslaved your great great great whatever and that if not you could be in Africa and not know what the USA is??? You sound as if you resent being here and then have the gull to say that you enjoy freedom of speach??? If your family had stayed in Africa you might not have been born. Do you even know Africa's history of genecide and mutilation? Do you even know what tribe your people are from? I'm so tired of hearing black people complain about slavery and reperation. There are just as many poor White people in America as there are Black not to mention Hispanic and the only way to over come poverty is with education (something you seriously lack). The problem isn't what needs to be done, but what already has. The civil rights movement has empowered you but instead of taking whats already been given to you and using it, you squander it with lazyness and pipe dreams. If you've actually done one thing that was self sacrificing I think I would die of a heart attack. Dating white girls doesn't mean you all about racial harmony it just means your fake. Your a disgrace to your people and your community. I hope you are never in a position to influence younger children to your way of thinking. Greatest you are not and never will be until you educate yourself and learn the flaws of your thinking.

Very well said. This is soooo true, but one more thing about slavery and reperation. Does that yahoo you quoted that most ****** were bought from other Africian tribes who sold to Whites as well as others? Africians are equally responsible.
I also get tired of hearing the complaints of how screwed over they were. As cruel as it sounds every black in this country is reaping the benefits of what their ancestors suffered. Like you said, if not for slavery they would not be in this free country reaping America's rewards. You wanna talk about screwed over...Ask a Native American. They were the ones who were totally wronged against.
