Why can't every ref be like Steve Smoger?

I swear, we'd have less controversy, and more clear cut winners. Some would say, we'd also have a lot more dead boxers, though I don't think Steve ever lets it go THAT far. He seems to stop it at just the right time when deep in himself, he knows the fighter has had enough or can't give anymore. Other refs that aren't experienced enough to realize these feelings in the fighters, panic, and stop the fight immediately. That really sucks for fighters that are going for world titles and after all the hard work, they lose on flash knockdowns.

IMO, after last night's fight, Steve Smoger is the finest ref in boxing today.

Yep would probably be a few winners that would end up lossers if Smoger was the ref in thier fights , lots of guys can turn around a knockdown and being hurt if they are given the chance , every fight where the public say they felt it was stopped to early may have turned out different .

One thing though I thought he should have started a count over Taylor , would not have ment Taylor got up just would have been the official thing to do .

your acting like Smoger is this crazy man separate from the rest of the referee fraternity that would of under nomal circumstances picked up a limp Taylor from the corner and held up him a good twenty seconds in his arms for Pavlik to pound on him.

the reason he stopped it in what some of you seem 2 think was early is becuause he has already witnessed pavliks power in the miranda fight in which he should have stopped earlier then he did im sure he got bitched at 4 lettin mirnada take the beating he did

The reason he stopped it is because Taylor was stuck on the ropes.

It's a completely different ball game when someone's stuck in a corner vs. someone getting popped in the middle of the ring.
