im just saying .. don't you think its kinda a coincidence that Taylor puts a clause into the Pavlik fight for a rematch if he loses at 168?

yeah sure Taylor said he was moving up to 168 regardless

but look at the contract (Pavlik-Taylor)... rematch at 168 if Taylor loses.
Well of course Taylor thought the size advantage over Spinks/Ouma was enough reason to not need to move to 168 yet. He felt he could deal with the hydration/stamina issues that go with losing so much weight.

But vs Pavlik, Taylor did the smart thing. He assured that he would get a rematch above 160, and if Taylor is having trouble making 160 as everyone claims, then this is fair. Pavlik is a big boy himself and signed the rematch clause so he must not have a problem with it.

i think Taylor knew he couldn't beat Pavlik at 160 (or maybe he was just to over confident .. especially after the knock down)

so he not only said he was moving up to 168 ... but put it in the contract .. so its an excuse if he loses

"well Taylor had all this trouble making 160 .. thats why he's fighting at 168 his next fight"

how come not a word about it is made in the Ouma or Spinks fights?

fighting Pavlik and moving up to 168 worked hand in hand for Taylor.

and come on .. out of all the fighters who fight at 160

Jermain Taylor isn't the only fighter there who has to cut weight to get there

i believe Kelly Pavlik does the same thing

still banking on a rematch ... to think if Taylor coulda finished that 2nd round.

exactly, no way you can say pavlik was down by more than a point in this fight.... taylor won the 2nd 10-8 and at very most 3 rounds on top, i gave him 2... it was obviously predetermined that if it went to the cards taylor was gonna get the nod.

reminiscent of mike tyson vs buster douglas where dougas whopped his ass for every minute of every round he wasnt knocked down in

scores at the time of tysons stoppage..... 87-86 TYSON 86-86 EVEN 88-82 Douglas... no way in heaven or hell you could have scored that fight even

Taylor is a huge middleweight, period...one of the biggest...and he has been talking about moving up for a long while now.

When you look at guys like Hearns, Hagler, and Hopkins who were great middleweights...Taylor is a good bit bigger than all of them. It's obvious he would have to move up sometime, for his own good.

if taylor were struggling so hard he wouldnt have come in a whole pound under the limit... i see pavlik taking better advantage of the 8 pounds anyways

I just hope it's at 160 where they have both fought, and both have big wins.

And it will be for a couple of alphabet body titles and The Ring title.

Something to fight for in addition to revenge and confirmation that this **** was the real deal on the deal for Taylor and Pavlik respectively.

as big a Middle as Taylor is ... Pavlik is taller then him

yeah I know moving up for Taylor was inevitable.... but still .. I guaruntee you

                    people reading articles about Pavlik-Taylor

the words rematch clause at 168 WILL no doubt come up

and the casual observer will say .. hey if this fight was at 168 .. and Taylor has trouble making 160 he coulda been weight drained

but what will happen at 168 ... Taylor's stamina is better and he capitalises and gets the kayo... or Pavlik withstands all his shots and gets the kayo again?

That's what happens when a fighter is in good shape. Fighters who train very hard AND dehydrate themselves can make amazing weights. Ask Roy Jones, or Jose Luis Castillo for that matter.
