No, No Pavlik didn't show that he was a better fighter. Not by any means.

In fact Taylor showed that he might have as much power, and is much faster more athletic and more coordinated than Pavlik.

He punched himself out, and paid the price.

All we learned from this fight........was that Pavlik has a huge heart.

and no don't call it hate .. because all of the above is factual information.
The only problem with your analysis (and it's a big one) is that Taylor was already set to move up to 168 before he signed to fight Pavlik. It wasn't Pavlik that made Taylor move.

Taylor is a southern boy, he knows how to fight. He will kill pavlik in a rematch.

Mark my words tonight. Taylor wins the rematch.

But also, hats off to Pavlik, he has a champions heart. Though I still pick Taylor to win a rematch.

I don;t like the rematch because once he gets tkoed everybody is gonna **** on him, the same way people are ****ting on Miranda. Those are really good fighters unfortunatelly Kronk ain;t Kronk in this day of age until you meet Pavlik. And so far, two very, very good middleweights haven't made it out of Kronk gym. What a ****ing ****** statement, but I am just following Jermain's trail.

That was an exciting fight. And that would be like saying Castillo was done for after being stopped by Corrales.........only to rematch and knock him out with 1 single punch. The rubber match is a pickem fight IMO.

well for the sake of clarification i dont think he is "as done" as reid, i just couldnt think of another relevant comparison, but i cannot agree that a rubber match would be pick em...

pavlik was caught by "dumb ****" in the second and i dont think he lost more than 3 or 4 minutes of the fight aside from that 2nd round.... but really if pavlik doesent stick his chin out like mayorga he would have just taken the fight over much sooner imo.

i also dont think its fair to assume somebody has the resiliency to comeback from a defeat same as castillo. castillo is much tougher mentally imo, i never ever thought taylor sounded truly confident in the lead up to this fight and he sure as **** wont be confident the second time around after hitting pavlik with everything he had and losing anyhow.

the second fight would be more of the same that we saw in this one. pavlik had that in his control until he started with the bull**** macho stuff...trying to jaw at taylor and make faces while jermain was teeing off on him.

i was dying of laughter when i heard the judges had taylor up by several points at the time of the stoppage. worst case scenario, pavlik was losing by a point. good god am i happy a taylor fight had a decisive ending though...finally.

but still look at the Kassim Ouma and Cory Spinks fights

weight wasn't an issue at ALL.. it was why the **** is Taylor fighting these small guys

im just saying .. don't you think its kinda a coincidence that Taylor puts a clause into the Pavlik fight for a rematch if he loses at 168?

yeah sure Taylor said he was moving up to 168 regardless

but look at the contract (Pavlik-Taylor)... rematch at 168 if Taylor loses.
