I wouldn't call Edison a bum .. but he is definetly flawed as far as his overall boxing ability goes (his power is his best asset, obviously)

true Abraham AND Pavlik both beat Miranda

but one of those victories was a hell of a lot more impressive.

It wouldn't surprise me either way who wins.

I think having Emmanuel in his corner will play the difference for Taylor in this fight.

He will take some huge shots, but will walk away with a UD.

I think he meant threatening as in really threatening. Edison Miranda was intimidating if you were intimidated by a big mouth. JT is threatening as in he has held all 4 middleweight championship belts, and never lost any of them in the ring, is undefeated, and has 2 wins and a draw over two top 10 P4P list fighters, a champion and a former champion, a bronze medal, etc etc.

Alan Green was a good win for Miranda ( I called that one incorrectly), and I'm pretty sure all of Mirandas fans will still tell you he is good, its the people who saw that he was overblown from the start that are saying that he was never that good in the 1st place. As a matter of fact, its BECAUSE certain people hold/held Miranda in such a high regard that Pavlik is being hyped like he is in the 1st place.

Props to Pavlik if he could pull this off, and he can, but people thinking that someone with Taylors resume is going to fold up just because somone hits him hard are probably WAYYYYY off.

Pavlik is just too slow in his hands and feet and I don't like the fact that he throws too many punches which cause him to have a lack of defense. He gets hit way too much for me. If Taylor fighs like he fought against Hopkins, he wins decisively.

how do you rate Miranda? obviously he has power .. but is very limited

he's definetly not elite . .because as a boxer he's very flawed

so how do you rate him personally?

And McKay, JT might fade in a fight; but what have you seen from Pavlik to think he wont? He's had (I checked boxrec to be safe) 1 fights go into the 9th round and 4 in the 8th. I've more questions for Pavlik when the fight gets late than JT.
High punch output throughout fights followed by devestating knockouts in the later rounds. Such as against Zertuche.

He put him to sleep on his feet.

Tim Smith, New York Daily News: Taylor W12
Dave Weinberg, Atlantic City Press: Taylor KO5
George Willis, New York Post: Taylor TKO10

I respect Ron Borges's opinion the most, maybe he sees something im missing.

This should be a war. Taylor TKO5 and Pavlik TKO8 are the most accurate Picks IN MY OPINION
Off the top of my head, I know for a fact that at least half of that list thought Miranda was going to tear through Pavlik. So take it for what it's worth.

Jermain Taylor is the OVERRATED fighter here, not Kelly Pavlik. Jermaine gets most of his credit from beating a 40 year old Bernard Hopkins. 40 years old people!!! He went life and death with the old man and should have lost the first fight undoubtedly. Then the wigs at HBO and Dibella try and make him look good by putting decent names in front of him that are really LIGHT WELTERS and WELTERWEIGHTS (Ouma and Spinks)!!!

He doesn't knock them out like he was supposed to, but instead LOOKS BAD in fighting these smaller men and I for one had Spinks beating him which is RIDICULOUS! He fought to a draw with Winky Wright who is really a Junior Middle as well and CAN'T CRACK AN EGG!! Jermaine is so overrated it's not even funny guys. He's gonna be exposed like a hooker in a bathroom stall and not Emmanuel Steward (who the **** annointed him as GOD himself?) or Dibella can do about it. He's going to be hitting a guy who isn't going to back down for a second and he's going to get swallowed up.

He's not going to be in there with an old man, a light hitting defensive specialist or some blown up welterweights. He's going to be in there with a big, strong MIDDLEWEIGHT who hits like a light heavyweight and his run as Middlweight pansy of the world is going to come to a close.

I still don't know what to think here. Pavlik seems to have wanted this fight more than Taylor did. It's difficult to pick against the incumbent, but if I was forced to make a pick I might go ahead with Pavlik.
