Does anyone discredit fighters with low KO ratios?

It just kind of makes me angry when someone really can tap their way to victory.

Someone else that comes to mind is Paulie Malignaggi... that really makes me think that someone is running and tapping when no one even stops the fight, because no damage is being done.

Just an angry rant, and I wanted to see if I was alone.

i dont mind the low knockout ratio. not everyone has KO power. as long as they're a good fighter and work hard and are willing to fight, they are ok in my book.

my trainer has a pro record of 32-3 (9KOs)and i think he is a great fighter. he is fighting sechew powell in december and im hoping he gets KO number 10...

No. BOXING is a sport. And theres these things called good "Boxers." If you can knock your opponent out thats great, but a win is a win regardless of how it gets done.

Absolutely, the goal in a fight is FIRST to knock the other guy out and SECOND to win the decision if that doesn't happen. A low KO % is a huge handicap in my opinion when assessing a fighter's accomplishments

well low ko ratio isnt that bad depends on the fighter.

KO ratio doesn't mean nothing. Boxing anything can happen. All it takes is one punch.

If Paulie Malginaggi landed flush on, say... Hatton's chin, what do you think would happen?

It doesn't bother me when fighters win decisions, it just bothers me when fighters can't even really hurt (any of) their opponents and get decision wins. Certainly it is okay if you are fighting Micky Ward and you can't hurt him, but when a fighter doesn't really even have the strength to hurt their opponent, alarm bells kind of go off in my head.

Especially considering that many fighters who prospects face in their first few fights are awful.
