no, i discredit fighters with weird ass styles because sometimes they win jsut because theyre weird and i discredit dirty fighters too.... i also have a thing against guys who go backwards, because if you dont chase them theres no ****ing fight and if you chase them, you tire more, you let yourself vulnerable to counters and so on.....

All I had to say when I read this thread title was: Winky Wright. He only has, I believe 25 KO's in his 56 fights (I think), and even though he's no knockout threat, he's sure as hell one of the most technical fighters out there, and gives fits to ANYBODY in diferent ways.
Plus, lately he comes forward a lot more, and his fights are beginning to become much more entertaining, the Taylor fight was great, and I enjoyed the Quartey fight as well. You can't discredit somebody who regularly schools fighters (see the Tito fight), and who has one of the best defenses in boxing.

Boxing is the art of hitting and not getting hit. However, boxing is the SPORT of rendering your opponent too damaged to continue. Therefore a boxer who taps his way to a decision has a hge barrier in the way of greatness. Also what happens if a feather-fisted fighter ends up behind in a fight?
Willie Pep was known to be a pitty-pat fighter but he still had 65 knockouts in his 229 wins. Maxie Rosenbloom on the other hand had just 19 KOs in 221 wins, and he'll forever be outside the all time great lists.

The first goal is to win the fight. Its a bonus if you can KO him.

KO precentages don't really bother me, there are certain fighters that don't have the power and have to find a way to win some other way. It's about winning, but the tricky thing when it comes to boxing is if you win by KO majority of the time the better chance of the fighter being a PPV star.

Oh hell ya. If this was hockey or baseball where fighters are guaranteed big paydays even if they stunk up the joint with boring fights...then it would be different. But it is all about how you promote yourself. Gatti made more money then alot of people. And for the most part he was extremely limited.
